I got to ride Flashback (my first solo) on Sun. It was not very exciting at all, but I didn't find it that rough. There was the spot that Tom Servo mentioned that really gives you huge slam, but if you're bracing, most of the ride isn't too bad. On the other hand, there isn't too much redeeming about it in the first place.
Summary: Glad to get the credit, not much else.

Is it a dream or a memory? It's both, it's X
Personally, it never being open at Magic Mountain is fine by me...because I simply walk right by it either way.
I do agree with others, however, that they should at least make an attempt to maintain the thing if they are not going to take it down...amazes me sometimes how Six Flags sees fit to tear down "maintenance nightmares" like Sky Whirl (and the sky rides at all of their parks) but somehow find it rational to keep rides like Flashback standing there in the state it is in (and run in only once in a blue moon). But, oh well, such is life. I'd still like to see the original Tidal Wave "somewhere" at Great America, but looks like Kentucky is going to get that fun!
Anyways, as I have mentioned in other threads, I just don't get Z-Force/Flashback and I never will. Neat concept, poor execution.
I rode it in 1997 and loved it! However, standards of smoothness were lower in those days so maybe I wouldn't like it as much now. Hopefully, it hasn't got any rougher.
If they could smooth it out, or if someone could build an updated version of the concept, I think they would have a real winner on their hands. It's just such a great idea for a ride, and a compact one, which would be useful for a lot of parks.

It isn't so bad. . .
Once you're used to it
