What are the biggest parks by land area?

I was just curious as to which parks are the Biggest in Size,  which have the most room to expand, and what is the average amount of acreage for a Theme Park?  Thanks for any info.......
Well being a bit late here, Six Flags Great Adventure I believe has over 600 additional acres to build on.

Kings Island has about 1200.

There are two parks coming that will be at least 1000 acres when they are built with much more room to expand. One in Mississippi and the other in Atlanta

Mississippi?  I sure wish that we could get a Theme Park in Arizona!  It's not like the greater Phoenix area doesn't have enough people here.

If someone would just build a decent smaller family park with a few coasters in it, I think they would make a killing, for lack of any other kind of decent family entertainment.  Of course, the high temperatures down here in the valley would force the park to be built up North in the higher country with cooler temperatures.

Oh well, it'll probably never happen anyway.

I gotta go with Epcot down in WDW

I believe that it's easily the biggest park in the US, if not the world

sfgadv,  has over 1500 acres left to develop.  They also are looking at more land near there outlets to expand the outlets.
If you look at the whole complex, WDW has no competition with 40 square miles of land.
Jim: I have always wandered how much land there is on each park.

Do you happen to know those figures?

I think the average acreage is 50-60 acres.

SFWoA has the most used acres at 750, no one knows how many are available, but it goes all the way to the little road on 43

I live in Phoenix and couldnt agree with you more. We are one of the top 5 largest cities, yet my "home" park is SFMM (350 miles away). Unfortunately, the main them park companies (SF and CF) are more inclined to purchase an existing park and transform it into a major theme park. We have only Castles and Coasters, which is in a mall parking lot. It was a miniature Golf place when they added 2 small coasters and a few flat rides. Possibilies of expanding Castles n Coasters are Zero. Based on its' success (or lack thereof), it would scare off even the largest theme park companies from building in AZ. NOTE: I have been to SFMM 3 times this year, Knott's twice, Cedar Point and SFWoA, but havent been to Castles n Coasters for about 5 years (I pass it almost daily). But what a great Winter Retreat would it be if there was a world class amusement park in Phx! I always thought it would be nice to see indoor air-conditioned queue lines anyway.

sfdl also has alot of land (i think it's somewhere between 700-900acres) Unfortunately, six flags is too dumb to take advantage of it.  SFDL is the second biggest six flags park (acre wise) and SFGADV is the first biggest six flags park acre wise.

Disney World has the largest with it's parks.. if you count the whole plot of land.

Disney and Universal both have a ton of unused land, and so does PKI.

Does IOA have room to expand? When I was there it seemed like there wasn't.

I think PKI has about 750 acres not used, but I am unsure of how much is used. I think its somewhere around 100. All you have to do is go to terraserver, look up the Kings mill area, find PKI, and they own all the way back to the river. Its quite a lot of land.
