What about Coasterworks? PTC?

Anyone have any updates on them? I personally think they will end up being bought out, either by Premier Rides to enter the wood coaster market, or by PTC should they decide to reenter the coaster building game.

What do you think?

-----------------

Why? They are a tiny company within a niche market. They have built two coasters so far, one of which runs wonderfully. Right now most of the people who work there are working with PAX on the new coaster in Russia. Add in the fact that you cannot really "buy" much of the company since it serves as an amalgamation of companies (George Laibe as the head of it, Martin & Vleminckx do the tracking, etc.). If anything, perhaps the group would dissolve and the contributers would work for different people. You do not need to build a coaster every year if you have hardly and overhead and work in other facets of the industry.

PTC doesn't make coasters anymore, but supplies many other coaster parts for companys as well as makes trains. Coaster Works has been making back up parts for many different types of coasters, but I don't know if they have anymore projects in the making.

I am saying, if PTC had an itch to start making coasters again, wouldn't it make sense to buyout an existing company with the equipment to do so again (I'm sure they didn't keep a large warehouse with idle milling machines and other wood fashioning equipment after they called it quits) instead of reentering and creating more competition for Coasterworks?

There website is still up and they even mention a new project called "Storm."

Interesting. Perhaps I read it wrong, or the statement was wrong.

Coasterworks is now part of a partnership with various designers and builders, Pax among others.

I recently had a chat with one of the designer for Thunder Eagle and Dania Beach Hurricane, his name is Jean-Marc Toussaint. He's featured in the "Wild Rides 2" TV show, where he presents Tonnerre de Zeus. He said Coasterworks is still in business, but Martin & Vleminckx is now a part of Vekoma (which leaded to their 3 wooden coasters).

I think they've had "Storm" listed for over a year now, though.

Someday there will be something here.
