Whalom Park sale can go forward

The settlement of an ongoing lawsuit means the sale of the now-closed Whalom Park can go forward, according to one of the attorneys involved in the case. The deal is expected to close in early 2006.

I saw the tumble bug at Edaville in January... track is strewed around the side of the parking lot, the cars are next to one of the train sheds... I was hoping they would set it up there, as they are another little piece of local history that is trying desperately to make a go of it. Either that or sell it to Canobie. I would much prefer to see Whalom open again, but if it has to close I hope they take every tiny piece of viable amusement park stuff and do something useful with it, even if they have to give it to another struggling park, like the one in PA that got flooded in Sept. I think the saddest photos I have ever seen were of a rollercoaster being bulldozered into a pile...
