"Whale of Controversy"

There seems to be alot of controversy over the new whales that Six Flags WoA are trying to place in the former Shamu Stadium.  An article was placed in Monday's Plain Dealer over the controversy.  Do you believe that the killer whales will be placed inside the park, and do you believe its a good idea?  What's your stand on the issue over the whales?
Bring them back.

I don't think that any animal should be held in captivity, unless they have great care, plenty of room, and will teach people about the importance of saving our wild life.  I don't think that the whales should be returned to SFWOA, unless they have been in captivity before and are coming from another park or zoo.

As far as I know, the vast majority of whales in captivity were born there. They couldn't live in the wild if they wanted to.

Bring them back. That side of the par was dead without them I personally found nothing to do over there without them (as much as I love the dolphins, but they just aren't enough).

CoasterKrazy, they are coming from another marine park (the female will be from France and the male will be from Argentina). The controversy surrounds the male in Argentina.

An editorial will be available in a few days on my site.

If you have ever seen a marine show with whales or dolphins at a park then you know that they get great care. Also, most of the shows teach how important it is to save the whales, the enviroment, and whatnot.

Just let the park have their whales.  First they couldn't build the coaster they wanted, and now they give them crap about the whales.  Geez oh man.  I hope the park does focus on making improvements with nothing too major going on this offseason.

I prefer to have them called Orca whales.  Since I know alot of animal rights people would fight it more if the word "KILLER" is in the advertising.

I'm pretty sure just about everybody over 18 knows that killer whales and orcas are the same... as well as their reputation as being more of a gentle giant than an evil beast (as seen in some National Geographic videos when they are feeding on seals).

It shouldn't matter in advertising regardless.
