Western Playland contract still has about ten years

County commissioners are wondering why the owner of Western Playland is moving to Sunland Park, N.M., when there's close to 10 years left in the contract between El Paso County and the owner.

He's keeping a few rides at the old location. I doubt the lease specified the number of rides required. Perhaps they should have let him expand as he wanted to. I call sour grapes on this one.

So if you've been reading the papers and watching the news like everyone else you'd see why the man is moving his park. He's obeying the contract to an extent so I don't see why they are griping over this. Pat Thomson has only been looking for a new coaster for what? 5 years?
