Western PA Park Loop

Good for you, Steeler. You're a lot braver than I am. The baby rides are the only ones I don't get scared on.
The Whip, the Kangaroo and the Turtles are for babies? I guess you'd better get me a diaper because I love those rides. Log Jammer, Pittfall and Volcano are certainly a lot of fun but so are the so-called "baby rides". Maybe you should try riding them again to see why you're the only one that ignores them.

^ I must be a baby, too. I LOVE those rides.

And if you're paying attention, RatherGoodBear asked about any "do not miss" attractions so I listed things you probably won't find many other places, if at all. Drop towers and enterprises are pretty easy to come across.
^I'll second that!

It all Depends, Rob. It all Depends.

The Whip, Turtle and Kangaroo are classics. I've gotta get to KW this year. I remember all those rides from differant parks. They were great.

One other thing about Conneaut: You will be able to ride everything in the park in probibly less than one hour.

Isn't Idlewild's Mouse the old Alton Towers Wild Mouse coaster? If so, I remember riding it when it was located near to the (equally old) Alton Beast coaster (adjacent to the old coach carpark)...boy, I really miss that ride.

I have vivid memories of my sister screaming her lungs out on the Wild Mouse coaster!

Yes, aanatpel...it is from Alton although the revolving tunnel on the lift has been removed.
well everyone i hang with don't ride those rides. I never see teenagers and people in their 20's riding those rides. Just a bunch of little kids and old people. maybe yall fit in one of those catigories. whats so fun about riding a train? And sitting on a turtle going in circles up and down little hills. Those rides put me to sleep. I need thrills to keep me going. yeah they are classics but i really don't care about classics. i just think they are taking up space.
What's fun about hanging upside down in an uncomfortable postion by an over-the-shoulder bar?
PGH_Steeler, its a shame how you think of Kennywood's classic rides. But of course, you're entitled to your own opinion.

You have people out there like RGB who probably do anything to have KW as their own park, but instead you're just another jaded local who doesn't think KW isn't cool because they don't have two 300 ft. coasters, while visitors like RGB have to cram things in due to their schedule.

But hey, you and "your crowd" not riding the classics just means a shorter line for me and everyone else.

hanging upside down is not uncomfortable to me. i can ride those rides all day. and beeman65 i guess most of the locals are just like me cause all those rides are basically walk ons, there are never any real lines.
You're starting to sound a lot like that fugly Stud troll from a few months ago, PBH Steeler. A ride doesn't have to kick you in the nuts to be really good. And I do believe that RGB, like a lot of others here, are over 20 (lol).

Oops, I ran out of troll food. :-(

Bear, DelGrosso's and Lakemont can be done in 2 or 3 hours each. Idlewild , to me, is a half day park if you aren't doing the waterslides or Storybook Forest. Kennywood is worth a whole entire day if you like flats...imho.

I don't know about the others, because I have yet to visit them.

I really can't wait to read your TR!

Yes, and so are you PGH_Steeler, so what's your point? :) Sorry, as an old geezer, I couldn't resist giving the young smartass a shot. Steeler, you really need to learn to slow down, relax and enjoy things. What a pity that you and everyone you hang with are part of this sensory overload generation-- you fluctuate between two speeds and two speeds only, adrenaline rush and complete boredom. And besides, who ever said it wasn't possible to enjoy both kinds of rides? It's not an either/or situation.

Damn, now my cover's shot. Dexter suspects that I'm over 20.

Beeman, thanks for the support, but I'm not that bad off. My homeparks are Knoebels and Hershey, with Dorney being the first alternate in case either park is unable to fulfill its amusement duties. I'm also thinking of making Williams Grove my "foster" park. I just wanted to finally visit all these parks I've been hearing so much about. And they really aren't that far away.

PGH, what's your take on Carousels? *** Edited 8/20/2005 1:12:48 PM UTC by FLYINGSCOOTER***

why are yall getting so mad? I don't have to like what yall like. They are baby rides and thats that. yall will never change my mind. Now if you don't like what i'm saying then don't read it, and don't write back. *** Edited 8/20/2005 1:19:24 PM UTC by PGH_Steeler***

Exactly. This thread was supposed to be about me! Me, me, me! :)

PGH_Steeler. No, you don't have to like what everyone else likes. True, if someone doesn't like what you have to say, they can just skip it and not respond. But YOU should follow your own advice. YOU were the one who first responded to millrace's comments about rides. So don't get all upset when you get called on the carpet for your comments.

Thanks again, everybody, for all the tips and insight.

RGB, who's looking forward to riding the Turtle and Kangaroo with PGH_Steeler.
