Web site says mayor lacked vision for Thunderbolt

A lot of preservationists and enthusiasts were upset by the sudden destruction of the classic John Allen coaster. A brief item on the Coney Island Web site talks a bit about the incident.

Read it on ConeyIsland.com.

Knoebels would have been the perfect canidate for the Tbolt. They already have 1 and a half coasters saved. The 1 being the Phoenix totaly rebuilt after being moved from Texas. The half being Twister keeping some deminsions the same as the original yet revamping the original layout to deliver a new more compact Mr. Twister.

"whats next?"

The Lincoln Park Comet is next. It is SBNO and free to anyone who wants it as long as they take it away. www.rcdb.com and http://members.aol.com/fiero64/ *** This post was edited by millrace on 11/23/2000. ***
It won't bring back the Thunderbolt but you may get some satisfaction out of the fact that Guliani got booed at the Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony.
