WE NEED YOUR HELP! A Helluva Northwest Trip!

No, you're not invited on that one. This is the Miami to Seattle trip in 5 days for CAC next year:

Day 1: Dania Beach/Miracle Strip

Day 2: Drive to Texas

Day 3: All the Texas parks

Day 4: Denver/Lagoon

Day 5: Silverwood/Seattle/Vancouver

I seriously hope you dont think you can do all 3 SF TX parks in 1 day, you underestimate the size of TX, by a long shot, its about a 5 and 1/2 hour drive from SFoT to SFFT, then atleast another 3 hour drive from FT to AW. You would get to spend like a total of 1 hour at each park, which would mean you get on about 5 coasters per park.

Nope, didn't see PotC this weekend. I fully intend to, what with one of my favorite current actors (Johnny Depp) and that hunky elf from LotR being in it.

Nah, you're just not looking hard enough...;)
janfrederick,

What is the Dinosaur National Monument and where is it located? Sounds interesting?

Sue,

those bumper cars sound aweosme, like Knoebel's right? I think we now have something to do in place of Oaks. :) Thanks!

Rollergator,

We are hitting Thrill-ville and Enchanted Forest (I guess Oaks is closed Mondays) and sightseeing around Portland now. That's always been the plan, not 100% sure what you meant.

Rob, I'll definitely be emailing ya!

Mike,

Does No-Doz really work? I have tried Red Bull before, and besides tasting like complete utter CRAP, it did absolutely nothing to keep me awake. Please tell me No-Doz works!

Hopefully we can get back on track with some more tips here folks, everything has been dynomite so far. :)

Joe: DON'T take No Dose - it will start to flip you out. I used to get the shakes on that stuff pretty bad. I find that a well timed gas station cappuccino has just as much (if not more) caffeine than any commercially available soft drink. Just be sure to get a small or you'll be taking a piss every five minutes. And you just can't make good headway like that. Sorry I can't be of any particular assistance to you as you head out though. I still can't believe you're doing this trip - you are the coastering community's one and only true coaster god. Baaaastard! ;)

Joe,

Never tried No-Doz so I can't give a report yay or nay. Most truck stop-type places have caffiene pills and other keep you up wonders.

The best way to keep awake is make sure the other person stays awake and keeps talking to you. Make drink stops, stretch, and change drivers when you're losing it.

I would defiantely get some Mountain Dew Live Wire, or some Tropical Remix Sprite...that crap makes me stay up all night all the time...but it makes you piss a lot too!!! : )

Joe - sorry for getting the thread off-track.

Regarding Yellowstone, I'd suggest stopping by your local AAA office and picking up some literature and maps, they'll be quite useful.

Feel free to email me if you have specific questions, I was at the park recently.

Dinosaur National Monument in Colorado is a large protected deposit of Dinosaur bones. At the visitor center, you can see a huge wall filled with Fossils. Here is the NPS site:

http://www.nps.gov/dino/

You'd need to take the 40 instead of 80 from Utah to Colorado. The monument is about halfway along the way. I don't think the distance is too much longer.

It'd be a nice leg stretcher anyway. Cool place.

Joe, since we're going to CAC, I was thinking of staying a bit later than the rest and getting a day in Oregon...(God forbid Jill reads this, LMAO). Wasn't sure if you were thinking of adjusting your schedule, and it was relevant to my trip too....(and it IS always about me ya know...)...;)

Have a fantastic trip, can't wait to see the TR....be SAFE, and do change drivers frequently...it's gotten us through some hellacious drives...

Joe C roXors!!!

It seems today, that all you see, are violins in movies, and sax on TV....

Woohoo more tips!

Jason (ophthodoc),

Okay, that is noted...I was afraid of taking those pills (reason why I never have before) since I didn't know what they were capable of, but after hearing that I think I will stay away. And true coaster god? Come on now! :-p

Janfrederick, thanks so much for the info! That is just the thing I would love to stop and see.

Gator, I see what you were saying now lol. I was wondering if you were takin too many No-Doze or somethin up there. :)

Coasterfan,

I'm assuming you didn't read the post since I said we were going to Enchanted Village and that we have season passes. Thanks though, lol.

Don't want to give you so many options that this becomes difficult, but a little under an hour from Portland, there are the Alpine Slides near Mt Hood. If you've done these elsewhere, you might skip it. But if you haven't, they're to much fun and addicting to pass. Kinda like a terrain coaster where you decide how fast you will go! They also have a lot more for the thrillseeker in you. Check out the attractions on this page for more info http://www.skibowl.com/winter/attractions.html

Have Fun!

I've gotten the Point of life, and can now pass away a happy man!.......

Just make sure to try to ride the Lakeside Cyclone by yourself. I find myself sliding all over those comfortable seats! :)

At SFEG, the ride ops will not let you ride the Great Chase unless you're under the height requirement. If you really want to ride it, I guess it doesn't hurt to try.

Robocoaster,

Dude, you ROCK!! I clicked that link and saw all those attractions and I think now we *have* to go here. It's like Adrenaline City, lol. I'm kinda torn...I've never bungeed or reverse bungeed, so I'm thinking I want to try that. Is it worth it for the $45 package or should I just skip those two and go for the $25 package?

Either way, looks like there's plenty to do there. Can't wait!

PT300, damn, that stinks about not getting on Great Chase, they are making me getting #500 on this trip harder and harder! Ah well, thanks for the heads up!
