WDW Keeps on Sending me Magic Bands...

I'm posting this half joking, but serious with respect to recent casual observations regarding WDW magic bands.

Over the past two years, and around a half dozen visits to WDW, I have managed to have gained quite the impressive collection of magic bands.

I just received my newest delivery of bands for what will be a one night stay in the Contemporary in just few weeks at the end of a Tampa spring training trip.

Each of these bands have to cost WDW at least a few bucks each. Yea, I know they are built into the price. However I am surprised that there isn't at least an option to use prior bands. It could result in some significant cost savings. Or offer a "trade in" program for old bands for a credit of some sort.

As the MyMagic+ program develops, just some interesting thoughts to ponder...

I'm going next week, can you drop one off by my place? Thanks!

Between the three of us, we have about 12 of them. Simon's oldest one finally broke one of the nubs off on removal, so he's down to one. Diana and I each have 2 from AP's and 3 from overnighters (a wedding, an overnight date, and some other reason I don't remember). We'll all get another set in July when we renew our passes. I've run out of manly colors, and I think I'm down to pink.

This is funny. We have our first and only set of magic bands, and I was assuming that the idea was for us to hold onto them to use for our next trip. I already used blue...

I wonder how long they'll last. I mean, the close proximity (admission and FP) I assume will work forever, but the long-range, which help zap your on-ride photos to your online account in a totally creepy way, do have a battery.

That's going to look just terrible with your hair.

I'd guess the most popular color is grey, not because it's the prettiest, but because most of the men I saw had that color. I went with red for two reasons. One, it's really pretty, looks very "Disney", and a lot of the coordinating bling goes well with it. (which I never did purchase, but I thought about it every day). Two, my partner went with grey.
