Water Park Expansion

Ride of Steel's avatar

Ok RCT2 is out. I'm sure there were many things that Chris wanted to add but you can only do so much. My idea is that they create a water park expansion which let you make speed slides, tube slides, etc. Just like the original and its following expansions they could do the same thing for RCT2. Along with that water park expansion they could create some new flat rides to add to the game.

What do you think?

-----------------
As the coasters get bigger so do the queue lines

It would be nice. I really want waterslides that don't have to be full circuit, spped slides like you said, family raft rides, faster lists on water rides, super saturators, and a wave pool. I definately want more flats but I think we will only get a few every expansion.
I think that would be a great expansion.I dont think Chris will do that though.

Considering that this whole game was like a large stand-alone expansion pack (admit it, people)...

...I think that next year, something very special may be reveled at E3, like a "true" sequal to RCT... RCT3 probably will be out a lot sooner than y'all think, and I have a feeling that not only will it use a completely new graphic engine, but it will also be on-line as well.

I don't think Chris Sawyer spend those 4yrs creating a game that looks & plays IDENTICAL to the original, with just a few added features...

Quote me on this one... but in a year, a new one will at least be announced, and it will have waterparks, GAMES, and everything else we cried for!

DawgByte, what sort of graphics inprovements do you want? Real time 3D?? There isn't a computer on the planet that could render a 256x256 park full of rides, and thousands of guests .. Without looking like, and playing like garbage.

I actually commend the decission to stick with a graphics format that suites the game, rather than one that sounds good in the ads! :)

I think that there shouldn't be an expansion pack but a whole new game.
I love that idea. I thought of that before but never posted it on this website. If they make that I can finally recreate a six flags park with a water park. Maybe I can even put it at different admission prices. Only if he could make an animal park in the game too.

I disagree. With games out now like grand theft auto 3 and the newest Vice City, theres huge cities with people, buildings, vehicles, police etc.

That game is incredibly detailed, and extremely packed with 'peeps'

So why can't a rollercoaster game come out in 3D, with the same, or more amount of detail featured in RCT?

...Back to the ORIGINAL topic...

Waterpark options are definately needed. The so called waterslide that the game currently has isn't very good and is way to large. I'd like to see body slides, speed slides, lazy river, etc. I would also like to see games.

But the question is: Would it still be RollerCoaster Tycoon without the fun, kiddish graphics? There are other games with 3D graphics and such. If you want good 3D graphics, go buy NoLimits or whatever. RCT is supposed to be this way.

I think you should be able to have more than one park on one map. Like if I were to recreate Cedar Point, I would make Cedar Point, Challenge Park, and Soak City. Then I could charge the $42 for Cedar Point, however much SC costs, and then have Challenge Park be free, and just making the rides cost. Then the guests could leave one park, enter another, and then come back to the original park! I think returning guests would be awesome.

Also, if we could have hotels that the peeps could actually stay in, and then go to the park whenever they want! I also think they should be able to drive cars on the roads to get to the hotels.

Anyway, about speed slides, that would be good. They definately have improved the waterslide in RCTII, with the fact that you can have a station without either and entrance or an exit, but the problem of getting the dingies back up to the top is still a problem. I think it would be cool if the guests went to the exits of the slides to get the dingies and then go up the staircase to get to the slide. **Wishful Thinking**

-Also, I really think there should be a skycoaster, along with many other rides that I don't know why Sawyer didn't make in RCTII.

Oh boy, that's the most I've ever poored out about how much more I want this game to have. But we should really be thankful with the improvements that we do have. But to be honest, I think my biggest peeve is the fact that you can't have a window option. I'd also have to say that my biggest happieness is the stacked scenery. Wow I need a nap!

Personally, I think the graphics in RCT are trying to be realistic looking, so I think that the transition to 3D would be welcomed..

And who says that those graphics couldn't be made 3D? Or if they wanted to, who says that they couldn't make the 3D graphics 'kiddie?' after all, look at all these cel-shaded games coming out. (3D games that look like cartoons)

And yeah, I totally thought that in our current version of RCT (2) We'd get a fully fuctioning waterpark....:(

But I love the game, and can't really complain with all the improvements that did make it in!

The whole point is NOT to make it 3D. That has been said more than enough times. It's to have fun, not be ALL THAT realstic.

Why? I think 3D has been around long enough for it to be considered 'the norm' for current videogames, and 2D to be considered different.

You just watch for a 3D RCT in the future, even if it isn't RCT by Chris Sawyer.... (something made up like Sim Amusement Park.. I dunno) You will see...

At this point, i agree 100% with chris sawyer in keeping the graphics the way they are. Take Sim Theme Park for example. Its not as solid as RCT is, and its just alot more frustrating...expecially with the coasters.

I personally would rather the game stay 2D, but the option of riding the coasters.

Back on Topic...

A water park would be nice, and another way to bring in some cash. But about the wave pool....i think the message board would be loaded with "Guest(#/Name)Has drowned!", considering that the guests in RCT really suck at swimming ;-)

I have also wondered why you cant have a parking lot. It may sound stupid, but parks gain alot of money off parking tickets, and RCT is all about realism, in that adventurous way.

God people. This IS NOT an expansion pack. It's the SEQUEL! Compare the expansion packs from RCT1 to the RCT2 game. NOTHING like them. New way to design, scenerio editor, track designer, new sounds, SCENERY IS INCREDIBLE!!!

What exactly did you expect?

-----------------

I think it would be cool to have something like a wave pool, or even a beach that the peeps could go swimming in. Then you could have "bathing suit stall" for both men and women.
I think the game should stay 2D but then once you have a good park you click on an icon that allows you to become a guest and walk around the park like some of the other theme park games. I still really like the 2D gameplay though!

Thanks Guys! I'll be sure to use these ideas in the new expansion pack!
