Water in RCT3

In my game, the water does not appear, it looks very clear to the point where you dont even notice its there except that you can see small ripples every once in a while. Is this a bug with the game or just my computer? And does the grass seem too bright green for anyone?
The water is fine to me and the grass does look really bright but hey that's just the game.
Water looks okay here. How high/low are your video game options set?

Yea if you go to options you can change how everything appears. Rides,Scenary,Peeps, etc.
My friend had the same problem... his water was absolutely clear. There might be a setting on the graphics card to adjust this; however, he took the more expensive route and purchased a $100 graphics card, which now renders the water just fine.

Sounds like your vid card can't handle the water.

Yeah, it is because the card can't handle it. On the PC I'm using now, I don't even have a water option. The button is there, but it won't work.

Thankfully, I'm getting a new lap top in a couple weeks that will be able to fully handle the game...till I open a park and have peeps start coming in;).

Yea, there is some Direct3D hardware for that, now I use the ATI Radeon 7000, and well it doesn't have that feature either, but other than that, Its not too shabby!:)
I did this update and can now see "water" with the Intel chipset in my Gateway laptop. I quote "water", since it shows up as an area of blueish-gray, not the cool looking water like in the screenshots. But, hey, it's a lot better than the big empty holes I had before. (BTW, thanks VC15SA for posting that link...)

My laptop is still far from the ideal environment to play, RCT3 but it'll get me through until I get my new desk top. I'm considering a high-end eMachines box...anyone have any input/experience with eMachines products?

Joel

I bought an eMachines comp for my future sis-in-law and it works fine. Also, a co-worker of mine has had one for about 4 years and there has been no reliablity issues.

That being said, "high-end" and "eMachines" do not go together. The EMs are good for basic stuff like net-surfing and word processing, but not one of them is good for gaming any more intensive than say, minesweeper! You'd be *best* off building your own PC with exactly the stuff you want, but barring that, I'd think that a Dell or Compaq/HP or even a new Gateway would better serve your desires.

I really dont think a new eMachines would give you the 'upgrades' you're looking for. :)

My motto with PC's has always been "If you can walk into a Bricks & Mortar store and buy it, it's usually not worth buying"

Maybe I'm insane? :)

Thanks for the advice, 2Hostyl...

I was going on the recommendation of a co-worker who loves his eMachine. However, I hadn't looked at their specs yet...I didn't know that they only offered a Celeron processor. So, that puts the eMachine out of the running...I definitely want a Pentium 4.

I have searched all through my game, and can't seem to find fountains for the water... Am I blind? Does anyone know where to go to add fountains?

No fountains for water and the couple of fountains used in the game don't have water graphics.

seems a bit stupid as to not include the water graphics.
Thanks, no pretty water for me I guess :o(
