Was I the only one who didn't know about Whizzer?

When Six Flags first announced the no-longer-happening (hurray!) closing of Whizzer, my family and I were torn between staying at Strickers and coming back to SFGAm to close out our old friend. We decided we would race back to SFGAm to make it by 8 pm or so. Little did we know....

When I left the office on Thursday morning to start our family's long weekend in Cincinnati (PKI, Coney, LeSourdsville, Strickers), I thought that Whizzer was still closing. We took several rides between 8 pm and 10 pm last night. We still thought it was closing. We made every effort to get on the last train last night. We still thought it was closing. The guy sitting in the car in front of me heard me say that this was the last ride ever. He then informed me that it WASN'T closing. (Park employees confirmed this afterward.)

I thought it was WAY too easy getting on that last train. Talk about needing to stay close to a computer to get the news. Excuse me while I continue working on wiping the egg off my face!

Yeah maybe you would've been on the last public train, but who says the ride ops wouldn't have ridden it?

Yes I'm 15, no I'm not childish, I'm not being sarcastic, well maybe I do have somewhat of an ego...

As long as you still had fun. Was the temporary banner still covering the Whizzer sign?

""To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!, You got to beat the man""!!!

No, Chitown, the banner was down. And it's always fun riding the Whizzer, so I'm not upset. Just feeling a little foolish for not catching on quicker.
