Here is a really cool auction for some Ohio amusement park Memorbilia!!! Roller coaster Train cars and signs and even a rocket ship from Geauga lake!!!!
I saw a notice for that auction and my ears perked right up. And while I would love to have coaster cars and rocket ships from Euclid beach, storage would be an issue.
And my actual reaction to this was “Who is this guy? How did he arrive as the owner of such relics? And what happened to him that it all needs to go?” Maybe someone here knew about this fantastic collection but I sure didn’t. And some of these items seem appropriate for a museum but likely on a donation basis only.
This seems like it would be a fun road trip, maybe I’ll go just for S & G.
This is actually the Euclid Beach Boys collection. The guy selling it is a really good friend of mine. They got to do a lot of the theming from Geauga Lake to Six-Flags. They have been Preserving all this stuff for over 30 years. You may have seen the rocket ship that was transformed to a driving automobile. That is also his. There will probably be another auction in April as well.
I thought it might be them. Is it just time to unload that stuff?
I’ve been on that rocket car, and it’s a sight to behold. The EB ride had only 3 rockets but they were long ones- Geauga’s had 5 (6?) but they were shorter. CP has used those rockets for haunt decor. It’s too bad (since they had the parts) that they didn’t recreate the ride for, I don’t know, their nostalgic Boardwalk area….
Pretty cool, but I don't see anything there that would make me take the 1.5 hour drive.
If they had a Paddlewheel Excursion sign, that would be a different story.
I kinda want to get this and stand it up next to my wife's side of the bed to see her reaction when she wakes up.
