From the official cast and community page:

The Disney College Program is back and today we welcomed the first of many students to call the new Flamingo Crossings Village home. What a joyous day for all our future Cast Members as they start this new adventure filled with hope, inspiration, and magic. We are so excited to welcome them into our Cast family as they get settled and begin their training this week.

The scale of the development is really impressive. There was nothing there a couple of years ago, now there are a bunch of hotels, the dorms and a shopping area anchored by Target. Other than the hotels, none of it is open yet, but it all came in to being very quickly. We're just excited to get a Target a little closer.

This is the summer to do the program before the hot tubs at the new housing complex get all the STDs

It'll probably be fine if they stick to dry humping.

I was by Flamingo Crossings not long ago. Holy cow are those kids going to enjoy those accommodations. I'm assuming they can house a lot of people there because I believe they are selling Vista Way (where I stayed in the early 90s).

For historical trivia: the first college program kids were housed in a trailer park called "Snow White's Village". I'm glad I missed that.

Sounds like lots of fun during hurricane season.

That whole area is blowing up and I am ready for it. Another Starbucks near property is exactly what I need! More lunch choices too:)

Not sure if I'd describe it as "near." Western Way is really long! We need to time it, but I thought it would be faster from Animal Kingdom to my house, but going up around Reams might be faster. Once the new MK lot overpass is done, it'll be no contest.

Well its near as far as having more lunch choices. It was just a few years ago that if we wanted to go to lunch we had to drive out to 192 or Crossroads. So depending on where work might take me for the day, or if I have a meeting on that side of property (once in-person meetings are a thing again) it's another "close" option. Flamingo Crossings is just a short drive from MK using Bear Island Road or from the back gate at AK.

R.I.P. Vista Lay

Flamingo Crossings looks amazing. Hat toss to new CP in these new digs.

We just had a party tent and Norwegian girl foil apartment parties, sneaking CM friends in trunks. wrapped in blankets to try to trick security. Questioning who in our building was sober enough to drive to the 7-11 to get more beer and nachos. Good times.

Yeah, nothing more fun than drunk driving. 🙄

That was the point. You'd find someone that had not been drinking to help you out. Everyone in each building hung out and we'd do that for each other. CP was a very cool instant family.

Rip Ridin’ Rocket > drunk driving.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
