Walt Disney World Resort guests will get free time in water park on check-in day in 2025

From the Disney Parks blog post:

Disney Resort hotel guests arriving in 2025 can enjoy admission to one of our water parks, Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, on their check-in day – included in their stay. Our water parks have something for everyone: big thrills, lazy rivers, wave pools, interactive play areas for younger kids and even water slides the whole family can enjoy together. The fun can start on day one at a Disney water park when you stay in the Disney Resorts Collection!

Yes, because 4 people can stay in a room. And one room gets you two days of express (check in and check out day.)

Yeah, when I was not local, staying on-property at Universal was a no-brainer. They've had that arrangement for a very long time, and it was worth paying a little extra for the Loews hotels (which were solid most of the time).

The boat ride and skipping the parking garage is also a really nice perk.

The time I did it, I think the room ended up costing about 60% of what it would have cost for two days' worth of unlimited express bought a la carte for the four of us. We used it to crash mid-day and to check out the pool--it was very nice. But we'd never cram the four of us in a single hotel room for actual sleeping.

I have many fond memories at Royal Pacific. Mind you, that was pre-Potter, when the parks were never super busy and a table anywhere at City Walk was easy.

Digging around in my crap for my swimsuit while I wait for my room to be ready doesn't appeal to me. [...]

But if you knew in advance that this was the plan, your swim gear would be packed in a readily-accessible location, little or no digging required.

Yeah. We would do that almost every trip. Swim gear gets packed in the personal bag/backpack - we check in to the hotel and head straight for the pool. We change in the bathroooms by the pool and swim/drink at the pool bar until our room is ready - then we take our stuff to the room to get settled in, change into park clothes and head off to EPCOT for the evening, usually with a planned dinner reservation at Flying Fish on the way in.

SOMETIMES, we go to EPCOT first, and then go back for the pool, but either way - water is in the forecast on day 1.
