Walt Disney World bringing back dining plans next year

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

From Disney Parks Blog:

Disney dining plans will be coming back as an option for those staying at Disney Resort hotels who purchase a vacation package with us starting with stays beginning Jan. 9, 2024, which will also open for bookings on May 31. We know our guests – and families in particular – have missed dining plans, which offer guests the convenience and peace of mind of pre-paying for their meals and snacks. Guests will be able to choose from two popular options: Packages that include either the Disney Quick Service Dining Plan or the Disney Dining Plan. Both plans will be a great value for families with young children with access to many spectacular food and beverage offerings across Walt Disney World.

It seems a little presumptuous for Disney to be announcing that they are bringing the dining plan back. I have not seen anywhere that the new board has approved this.

Hahaha that's great. I think this might be a minor indication about demand righting itself. I mean, sure, it's a good product and I enjoyed using it as a tourist, but it seems like a way to engage and bundle in a promotional way.

Also, we booked a passholder rate at Coronado in June for $233/night, which is something I haven't seen since well before the pandemic. Haven't stayed on property in many years, but when there's a deal, it makes for a solid weekend for Epcot concerts and gratuitous consumption. They have a great pool. Also, Three Bridges at Coronado has a Sangria University now. Already booked it!

Be prepared to do a LOT of walking at Coronado. If you are not staying in the tower then I recommend you request to stay in the "Casitas" section. It's not terribly far from the pool or the main building with the dining area. If you are in Ranchos you are pretty much walking from Epcot to any of the Coronado destinations It is WAY out there.

wahoo skipper:

Be prepared to do a LOT of walking at Coronado.

More walking or less walking than the distance from my car to the front gate of USF?

Well, that is a pretty good walk too, but at least there are some moving sidewalks strategically placed.

If Coronado needed a moving walkway...
