Walled Lake Amusement Park.

Hi everyone. I'm new here and find this to be a great place for information on the amusement parks in our country.

I need some help though. I need information, pictures or anything on the old Walled Lake Amusement Park in Walled Lake, Michigan. I don't know when it closed but I remember my dad bringing us to it for the Ford Motor Company picnics. Fords used to lease it out for the day and we were able to go to the park for free. I want to put together a book of sorts for many of my friends who used to go to this park for picnics. We are getting together for a reunion picnic at Cedar Point late in the summer.

Fords also use to lease or rent the Edgewater Amusement Park. Both parks have been closed for years. Information on that park would also be helpful.

Thanks for any responces. I know someone out in the internet world (especially from Michigan) would remember this little gem of a park.

There isn't a heck of a lot out there. The information on rcdb.com is what I sent them from information I gathered and posted on my website (in my sig line below).

The park was extremely popular in the late 1940's and 1950's. My parents used to go to Walled Lake on dates, and took me several times when I was a kid (early 1960's).

I believe the park closed down for normal operation in the mid 1960's and was used primarily for special events only. It's now been replaced with condominiums.

My dad used to go as a kid to Walled Lake and Edgewater. As for Walled Lake, I really don't think there is anything there now, but I'll have to go drive around and check... But I really think CPlady is right. Condo hell.
