Waldameer's Ravine Flyer 2 a top 10 wooden coaster?

I was just looking at stats for other wooden coasters and i was thinking that when rf2 opens it could be a top 10 wood coaster. I thought i read somewhere that it would have a 121 ft drop. if thats true it would be the 10th highest drop out of the all woodies. I know there are quite a few of you waiting for this this coaster to be built and im hoping its gets built by 2006-07. If anybody has any more info on what the details are(were)supposed to be on it it would be cool to see them. thanks!

Well, cracking any valid top 10 list is going to require quite a coaster. Think about who you're going to beat out : The Beast ? Mean Streak? Shivering Timbers ? Legend ? Thunderhead? Thunderbolt ? Raven ? Hoosier Hurricane ? Cornball Express ? Others at Hershey and a dozen other parks?

Different people might have a slightly different top 10 list, but most lists will start with many of these coasters, in various orders.

I like Erie and Waldameer and would love for it to pull a Holiday World and unveil a Raven or Legend called Ravine Flyer II.

But the competition is tough at the top and it will be quite a challenge. *** Edited 6/14/2004 12:39:19 AM UTC by Trekker Park***

It takes quite a coaster to beat out Mean Streak. Not even Hercules could stand the test of time against ole MS. What kind of "top 10" list were we talking about again? ;)

Well, it is being built by (was designed by CCI, but now) Gravity Group and won't be any taller than raven or legend... maybe, just maybe this will crack it...? ;)

....just cause I'm "that guy", I have to ask.....HOW are we ranking a coaster that hasn't been BUILT yet?

Ranking coasters in itself is SO subjective (just looking at Trekker's list, ROFL)...and then we have to add in the fact that NONE of us has even RIDDEN the thing....;)

Have to hope that it turns out as good as the reports on NM Rattler, any park that's THAT dedicated to realizing its dream DESERVES a great one...:)

No, Gator. We're ranking a coaster tha hasn't been APPROVED yet. Get it right, man.

It's so much easier to rank it before construction starts, don't you know that?!

So what if it has not been built or approved yet. It is already better than Mean Streak so it is in the top ten.
Whoever ranks a forceless, poorly maintained family ride like Mean Streak in their top 10 must really be on crack! :-) HAHAHA! RavenTTD I'm sure you will be right with that one!!

Mike and RavenTTD,
The zoning for the coaster was approved quite some time ago.

We just now have to wait for the park to decide what company to go with since CCI is gone and get the actual engineering done. My hopes is that it is Gravity Group that they choose.

THIS from "that guy" who has Riverside Cyclone rated very highly. *dismissive wave towards Gainesville* ;)

Larry Bill of C.C.I. / Gravity Group designed it and is

still on the project. Expect a lift of 80ft with a max

drop of 110 ft. I sparked the inquire into the engineeer when I spoke to a campground regular.

I told them C.C.I. went belly up. Two days later an

article addressing the issue appeared in the Erie paper. I bet they were pissed when they found out

it didn't get slowed down very much!

Seeing as how the coaster has yet to be built, talking about where it ranks seems a bit silly, no?
