Waldameer is still waiting for approval to build Ravine Flyer II. The park needs the state's environmental agency's approval, as well as a permit to build over a state road from Pennsylvania's department of transportation. The ride will not be built this year.

Not a bad layout if you ask me,did anyone notice that there's a family living nearby that totally object to the coaster being constructed?
That's really gotta stink big time & perhaps it's this "obstacle" which in addition tothe lack of environmental planning consent that is preventing construction from proceeding.

To whom it may concern,
After reading this article about the hurdles still facing Waldameer in getting their proposed new coaster, I can say that I sincerely hope Waldameer succeeds with their goal as this would surely help their park. The layout looks pretty cool as well. I would like to see the ride have at least one tunnel, if possible! Waldameer's other coaster is okay, the dark ride is great, and the log flume is pretty cool, but a roller coaster like the one proposed would assuredly increase my visits to this park, espeically if a tunnel is added. I wonder on two things though:
1. Is there anything we can do to help? Anyone to write to or anything in support of the park, like Six Flags Worlds of Adventure asked people to do when they were trying to acquire a killer whale?
2. Can Waldameer, in the mean time, get a smaller themed traveling rollercoaster or something to at least advertise a new coaster, like Conneaut did with the Toboggan? This could be put somewhere else in the park and would at least increase eithe the coaster and dark ride count and since it would be something "new," it might entice more visiters. It would guarantee myself and my friends! I will list some relatively interesting looking possibilities below:
1. BAYERN EXPRESS: $730,000

2. TOBOGGAN: $80,000
http://www.italintl.com/coaster/c32.htm
3. CUSTOM TIVOLI COASTER: $550,000
http://www.italintl.com/coaster/c1.htm
4. DARK RIDE (Fantas Manor): $10,000.00
5. dark ride (Cape Fear): $440,000
6. 1991 FUNNI FRITE DARK RIDE (Medieval): $100,000.00
7. Tomb Of Gloom Dark Ride: $20,000
Please let me know if anyone has any thoughts.
Sincerely,
Matthew D. Zarzeczny, FINS

Why can't the 1 house opposed nearby be moved? If the house itself is that important (and it better not be the type I think it is) pack up, cut in half and truck on up the road. If you are already that close to the park you are probably hearing the noise anyway.
On the homeowners behalf (barely) The fact that it only comes by every couple of minutes and closes at ten would not be comforting. Can you imagine trying to do anything w/this. Every two minutes a train goes crashing by. There's no going to bed early, sleeping in or whatever else it would disrupt. Like I said before...move the house!

They know it's a loud area in the summertime so its their problem. Wear ear plugs when you sleep so us majorly suffering roller coaster enthusiests who live in this boring town called Erie can enjoy a bigger, better and faster coaster instead of always travelling to BFE to wait 3 hours to ride one. Even though Cedar Point is the best, Waldameer can shape up and be as fun even though its much much smaller. I see the improvements that can be made. At least get a free fall ride like what Kennywood has. (the pittfall). 300ft. high. That would fit very well in the park. And it dont make much noise. More and more people would be attracted to the park if they see that. The money will start coming in and maybe more and better rides in the future. They'll be able to afford new rides then.
