Waldameer announces water park expansion for 2026

From Waldameer's Facebook page:

Bigger slides, bigger thrills, and even more fun for the entire family! The north half of Water World is undergoing a major transformation featuring an all-new Endless River and two huge 5-person family raft slides! One slide will feature an exciting yet not-too-scary combination of spirals, tunnels, and dips. The other slide will begin with a semi-translucent helix, then take a white-knuckle plunge before climbing a nearly vertical wave-shaped wall, giving a moment of zero-gravity weightlessness. Our new Endless River will offer the same relaxing experience we’ve all known and loved, but with a new variety of interactive water elements and a modern, more accessible design featuring zero-depth entry and exit. A few years down the road, Phase II of this project will feature additional dueling and twister inner tube slides unlike anything else in Water World!

Waldameer is a great “mom-n-pop” old school amusement park, if anyone has never been I encourage you to go. As much as adding to the water park is important, at some point investment should be made in a coaster. I’ve always thought a Premier Sky Rocket would be a great fit; minimal foot print, great aerial views of the lake from the barrel roll, hits the thrill target market, and it’s the right capacity for their attendance levels that could pay for itself in a couple seasons. Of course another option is the great work Vekoma is doing and they also have some layout options that could work.

I just wish they'd retrack Ravine Flyer. It went from one of my favorites to damn near unrideable.

That's disappointing to hear. That really was a great ride.

I rode RFII back in May and I swear it was the best ride I've had on it in years. The park has done a lot of retracking the past few years and it shows as the train was just ripping through the course. It's not Mystic Timbers-level smooth, but it's definitely nowhere near a rough ride this season. Just my two cents on one of my absolute favorite rides anywhere.

Overall, the park does a great job taking care of Ravine Flyer (I try to go yearly, about 2.5 hrs away). Back in 21 it was getting bad, and in 22 it was almost unrideable. 23 they replaced a lot of track, and it was back to running as we would expect. Such a great coaster!

I hope that she is having a great year, as this is a park that I really enjoy going to and appreciate. Props to the family and maintenance for keeping up with this park.
