Waldameer adding Zamperla Nebulaz in 2025

According to the park's Facebook page, the park's old Spider will be removed and replaced with a new Zamperla Nebulaz called Time Twister for next season. Also, Waldameer announced that their Paratrooper is "temporarily" going away so that they can build a new entrance to Water World (along with a new building for Potato Patch and the Swim Shop). The park says they will try to find a new location for the Paratrooper after next year. While I'm not sure a Nebulaz will be my kind of ride (I could never handle the old Zierer Tampico Tumbler rides and this seems to have a similar motion to those), it's always nice to see this excellent little park updating for future generations.

That's a fun ride. It's not particularly aggressive, and a little slow to load, but still a lot of fun. They've had it IAAPA several years.

Shout out to Waldameer, it's a great small family park in the classic tradition of amusement parks and their growth I am sure has helped stimulate the tourism economy in that part of PA. Hopefully in the future they can add something like a Premier Sky Rocket or possibly a launched Vekoma/Zamperla coaster that has decent height/speed but fits in a small footprint....I think that would round out the park's coaster collection nicely.

I've ridden the Nebulaz at Coney Island and it is indeed fun. I would say not nearly as intense as my memory of the Tampico Tumbler. I think the arms are longer so the forces at the top are a bit more gradual.

During a lovely solo trip to Waldameer, and after my 11th or so trip through their Wacky Shack, I climbed aboard their Spider which lives next door. I hadn’t been on one in years because I don’t know, just meh or something. Polyps and Monsters have come along in the meantime. Anyway, I was surprised at what a fast and disorienting ride it was. I spun around like crazy. Which leads me to believe that it’s likely every bit as high-thrill as the new Time Twister ride will be, maybe more so.
As for the Nebulaz ride I’ve seen only one, and even though I’d had a great interest, I passed on it. It seemed slow, it was smaller than I thought it should be, and the Pigeon Forge price per ride was high. They seem popular with parks though, and whoever invented it deserves a prize for creativity. The motion is mesmerizing and it seems like a collision will surely occur.

I also passed on the Nebulaz ride in Pigeon Forge. It looks like fun, but I ran out of time. How much was a ride on it? I didn't get that far.

I've missed the new Nebulaz rides that have been installed lately. I know I'll get on one someday soon.

In my experience, Spiders always offer better spinning than Monsters. Waldameer's is an especially good one. On Cedar Point's Monster, I usually barely spin and rarely even make it all the way around. I tend to get a couple of spins as it speeds up and then it just settles into a rut rocking back and forth a bit.

I put Waldameer in my top 5 parks; whatever they touch turns to gold. The kids love these things; can't do them so much myself - anymore.

Cedar Point must have slowed down the Monster since when I worked there. I used to ride it after I got off shift and I could get a tub spin like there was no tomorrow by my self.
