Wacky Worlds scenarios: thumbs down

Now that I've spent some time with the Wacky Worlds scenarios, I have to say that they pretty much all suck. The rides are poorly designed and theme elements are there just for the sake of being there.

I was always OK with the expansion essentially being new scenarios, but what a disappointment that they're so poor.

Rest assured, it's more incentive for me to post my own!

After this went half price at Target, i bought it. I wouldn't have if it hadn't.

If you like scenery, its probably worth $17. I found a lot of the pieces useful, expecially the European and American pieces (i was already working on an american themed park, so they were put to good use).

The new scenery is less cartoony and more detailed. But the shading is off, and some things don't fit together well. And the scale of some items is just ridiculous.

As far as new rides, this has been covered. Most are not useful. The coasters that have new cars are complete separate rides, not just another car option for the current coaster in the game. Meaning you have to reconstruct the coaster if you want to use that car. Most of the animal themed stuff is sort of stupid. And the new coasters do not have any premade coasters available, except the ones already in the scenarios which are not that good.

All in all, it looks like a big time rush job. I got my $17 of scenery.

So I gather I'll be seeing it for around $10 in Sam's Club in the near future?

Beast Buzz...mere days away.

Most likely true Goccvp. Me friend was going to buy it the other day and I said don't bother. You won't find it pratical for $20, wherever he said he was going to buy it.

Well, that kind of stinks. I was thinking the scenarios would be the most interesting aspect of Wacky Worlds.

Oh well, I still have plenty of RCT2 scenarios to play...

Anything good about Wacky Worlds before I buy it?
I dunno, Vortex... no one has anything good to say about it. This was the first time that I passed on something RCT-related, because everyone can't be wrong. I'll wait and see if the new expansion due out in October will be worth the money... plus it will probably include Wacky Worlds just as Loopy Landscapes included Corkscrew Follies a few years back.

If you like to theme, you may want it for the scenery. There are some new useful pieces. The parts i got use out of were the log cabin, the canyon wall parts (there are a lot of these), the bridge, the georgian and brick wall parts (for colonial theming), some of the city skyscaper parts (for more futuristic, bigger buildings than the former space theming), the corrugated building parts, and some of the misc stuff like a tractor, the hms endeavor, the energy/science/space themed stuff like satellite dish, ect. Each of the themining elements has many more pieces than than the previous theming did, allowing for more detailed buildings. But then there is the problem of the limits on scenery, so you have to pick and choose. If you are wanting to build an international park, wacky worlds is very good for that. You can definitely build more detailed buildings with this stuff.

The themed rides are slightly useful, but they are just different versions of what's there. They do at least look different if you are wanting to add more flat rides to a park. I also find some of the new themed coaster cars good for creating dark rides.

So if you want theming, buy it if you find it on sale (its still not worth $30). If you want rides, skip it.

its not as bad as everyone say's it is...Yeah it was a waste of time on infrograms part to even think of making an RCT2 expansion..and its not the best expansion ever....but oh well.. the themeing in WW is good and can be great if you want to make a disney or universal recreation. or a park like that......for all the people that complain about the game..tough luck!..get over it!...ne ways....why do you peeps play the scenarios?.....just create your own its so much better that way!...you can do all the stuff you want....and if you like a coaster in a Scenario you can always save it with scenery and stuff like that...ok well ive given my 2 cents......i hope i didnt make anyone mad.
