Voyage's 3rd Train

Anyone know what happened to Voyage on Saturday the 24th? I was visiting from out of state and it was my only chance to get a night ride, but the coaster went down before dusk and never re-opened.

Got plenty of night rides on Raven and Legend that night, but it was still a bummer.

Was there the next day (Sunday). Voyage was down until about 2:00 in the afternoon. Once they got it going, it ran three trains the rest of the day.

Life is an amusment park -and I can't get off of the damn spinning teacups!
I've heard various reports of The Voyage going down for different legnths of time periodically. As a non-enthusiast I have no clue if this is normal for a new ride of this size. Can anyone clue me in? I'm just not sure that I like the idea that every time I go to HW it might be a crap-shoot as to wether it is up and going or not. Of course the great thing about Holiday World is that its such a great place you don't have to go just for one particular ride. I guess I'm just concerned for the parks sake. Someone just tell me that this is normal and then I'll be ok. Thanks. =) *** Edited 6/29/2006 11:03:14 PM UTC by HoliJohn***
Welcome to how those of us near Cedar Point and Dragster feel!
1. Almost every coaster in its first season has downtime problems. Even woodies and expecially mulit train woodies. Mostly its sensor problems but I guessing Voyage is having it's share of track problems as well. A coaster of that caliber will need some off season reprofiling to correct some trouble spots (Dip before third 90) Probably needs worked on at least a couple times a week)

One reason Timbers isn't always run greased to the hilt. It tears its trick track up when it is.

Legend is finally getting it's helix reprofiled five years after being built.

Im sure the downtime is no where near what many coasters and most new coasters are.

Chuck, who says in a way they pushed the envelope with this coaster and IMHO succeeded way better than anyone but Intamin who uses a different system has before.

Chuck - Thanks for the explanation and helping make me feel better about the situation. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks I'll get to go to HW and ride The Voyage again. Maybe I'll do my first ever TR.......if I can get up enough guts that is! ;)

Thanks again.

Third train? heh I would have been content seeing two run...
