Voyage TGG pics. OH HOLY BLEEP!

actually, Louisville can be a GREAT deal, thanks to the "Southwest Effect". usually you can find a great deal on Southwest for flights to Louisville. and to back up Thrillerman, i flew to Nashville for the fall CBuzz event at HW, and i got a killer deal there as well, on Southwest from Baltimore. just shop around....

c'mon May 6!!!! hope Kentucky Rumbler opens around the same time too!!! :)

still trying to think of a good signature...

I am curious how you tried to get from Chicago to HW. It seems that there are ssome decent routes to take into Chicago from Southern Indiana. And it takes three hours to drive from Indy to my house in Jasper and 20-30 minutes to drive from my house to HW depending on how many cops I see and traffic.

It's getting out of Chicago that sucks. He's right, he would've been better off going through Cleveland even. We timed it really well, getting the bulk of rush hour out of the way somewhere between Cincy and Louisville.

Have you explored the possibility of taking HWY 41 down to I-64? I know that they just recently increased the speed limit on 41 to 60 and even 65 in some places. While I am in school, I live in Terre Haute right next to HWY 41 and the fastest way to get from Terre Haute to Santa Claus is quite complicated, but very scenic.
vacoasterfreak...Kentucky Rumbler opens the same day as The Voyage, and they're close enough to each other to do in the same day.

A hoffman50, yes if I did it again, I would take 41. It was fine driving that back. Coming down through Indy was a nightmare, though. Never again. Still, I'd rather pay another $100 to fly into Louisville, then drive from Chicago again.

Louisville is good, and it IS convenient to SFKK....but...

I'm voting for Indy....closer to IB... ;)

Gator, have you ever driven from Indy to HW? If you want to get to HW quickly and easily, go through Louisville. If you want to spend more time in Indiana and see that we have more than just corn, then visit Indiana Beach on Lake Shafer, just don't get lost trying to get to Southern Indiana from there!

I just did some research. Do not follow what online directions tell you. Highway 231 will take you from HWY 24 in Monticello all the way to I 64 in Dale (brand new Adult superstore there is really making a stir here in Dubois county).

Nor would I!

Yes, I do love that Cornball Express... :)
But I also love the tacos, the Skyroom, Tig'rr, Den of Lost Thieves, the best-smelling bumper cars around, Hoosier Hurricane, the scariest skyride in existence, etc., etc.

Yes, it is far from HW, but hey, I've already gone all the way to Indiana....and it's SOOOOO worth it! :)

Rub it in... rub it in.

Take their suggestions. I'd rather fly into Charleston WV, or Cleveland than Chicago again.

You can visit me anytime, Rob! I would be happy to pick you up in Charleston, or anyone else for that matter! Remember Camden Park is only about 3 hours from SFKK and PKI. It's about 4 hours from HW and Beech Bend. It's another good "on the way" park to Holiday World off of I-64. I am hoping it gets A LOT more attention next May revolving around the Rumbler and Voyage openings.

And this is coming from a Chicagoan...I flew to Louisville rather than drive from Chicago down there...what does that tell ya!?! ;)

Thanks for the great pictures. It's hard to believe that there's a 70ft. dropoff from the high point to the low point in the turnaround. It doesn't look that steep in the picture. I guess it's one of those 'have to be there' kind of things, which hopefully I will sometime next summer.
Oh my!! I've been drooling for a long time now, (really since Fall Affair to be honest). But now I'm starting to have feelings for this masterpiece! Come on May...hurry up and get here!

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
This looks like an enthusiasts dream coaster! PLEASE God, let this year be the year I get to HW.

You have to get there, Dexter.

You just HAVE to. :-)

Last June I flew to Milwaukee to attend Coaster Con XXVIII at SFGA/Little A-Merrika-A/BCMO. The first thing I did when I got there was to make my way to Indiana Beach. BIG MISTAKE! I-94 through Chicago was GRIDLOCKED from the Wiaconsin Border to the Indiana Border! It took almost FIVE HOURS to get through what I now call C-H-I-C-H-E-(Double Hockey Sticks)-G-O :( ! And this was on a SATURDAY! Although I consider Cornball Express and Superstition Mountain worth it :)! If you want to add Indiana Beach to your HW BB Trip I STRONGLY advise you NOT TO GO TO CHICAGO! Use Indy or Louigiville Instead!

If you plan to go to IB before HW, it would not be in your best interest to go through Louisville. ;)
I live just outside of Indy and the trip to Holiday World isn't too bad. You can take I-65 to I-264 to I-64 and be there in just over 2.5 hours. There is another way to go as well that involves state roads, but it shaves about 30 minutes off of the drive.

I've most of the diffrent routes it depends on how fast and if there is consturction. I did the I-65,I-264 to I-64 and ran into all kinds of stuff. took about 3.5 hours. You just need to pick your needs.
