Starting at noon on August 16 you can vote for the ride name you like best. This will narrow it down to 3 and Kennywood officials will then pick their favorite.

Some of my submissions were on there, it was apparently up earlier. I just hope I was the first to submit them, I did it as soon as the contest went live.

I hope a name with "Pittsburgh" or "Steel City" doesn't win - we already have rides with references to the city. "Pitt"fall - "Pittsburg" Plunge

My favs are Crossfire and Equalizer.

That was kinda the point behind the names. It is in Old Kennywood, themed to old area amusement parks, and they already have 2 rides in the area with that theme. One more makes sense to me.

Crossfire is my personal favorite of the names listed. The others just seem bland and even stupid.

As long as one of the "X" names doesn't win, I am fine with the result...

It kind of makes me wonder they can't even spell 'lightning' correctly...

Actually, G, some of the 'X' names were me being stupid. I didn't think they'd actually be on the list...

LOL, you have the ability to choose The Equalizer! Although it doesn't have an "X" in the name, it does have an X-rated connotation. :)

Anywho, I was sort-of nonplussed, too. I wonder if the names with "swing" involved are Gonchar's. I think he submitted every combination of words including "Swing" if I remember correctly.

I remember putting in Screamin Demon, I think. lol mine wasn't picked but oh well. Can't wait to ride it in '06.

Swing shot wasnt that something out of american gladiators. Maybe theyll have gladiators try to pull you off, like on the show.

In all seriousness though the best was Crossfire. Just call it like i see it.

CrossFire doesnt seem to thrill me as its the name of a car --- Chrystler CrossFire.. i think they coulda picked better names.. but i voted for...Scream Xtreme.. i like that name its catchy.
