I voted, too...but in most cases it was just like an election...I felt I was choosing the lesser evil among the nominated.

But the CCA did provide my biggest laugh of the day: SFMM being nominated in the "Best Capacity" category!? WTF?

------------------
Happy Birthday DawnMarie!!

I'm in shock about a certain nominee in the Best Wood Coaster category. It has been a favorite of mine since it opened, but has really gotten a bit of negative response as well. My favorite woodie isn't even on there, but that's ok! I forgot to even nominate it. ;)

I agree with all the nominees I've been to or ridden as extremely high quality parks/rides, so it's really a tough decision this year.

You know you love MM, Moosh. Or are you still upset that Flashback isn't open all the time? ;)

Just my luck... major server problems as soon as voting starts. ;)

Thanks for the nomination!

Moosh: You know I've never represented this as a scientific poll. Yeah, it's a popularity contest.

So that said, I'm still surprised that Magnum has managed to at least hang on to nominations, because the younger crowd that doesn't have the nostalgic attachment I think tends to disregard the ride.

Another thing to note is that PKI has a pretty serious fan base, more than I expected.

It is nice to see a couple of European rides make it in. I wonder if that has anything to do with the ACE Europe trip?

Jeff - I know its a popularity poll...I just can't believe anyone would nominate SFMM in that category! But I appreciate you hosting it none-the-less. I didn't mean to offend ;)

Happy Birthday DawnMarie!!

Im already having a problem with it! I went in the part of the site to vote, I saw the list of all nominees for each catagory, and at the bottom it said vote. So i clicked that and the next thing I knew it said i voted when I really didnt. Is there a way I can do it again? If you would Jeff give me another chance, and could anyone fill me in on what happened to me? Thanks.

What happened is that you didn't follow the directions at the top of the page (I know that's where I generally start to read from) that says "Choose one from each of the following categories..."

Yeah, but that'd be common sense, Jeff. That doesn't apply on the internet. :)

My biggest surprise was no Boulder Dash.

Cedar Point making the nomination for best food?

CP is great in alot of things but food is not its strong-point. :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

I agree, but if you look at past results, I doubt it has much chance at winning.

I just have to laugh. The nominees look like something the "absolutely reliable" website would produce. Magic Mountain for best capacity? Kings Island for best theme? Entertainment I tells ya!

------------------
Party goin on in the corner.....gotta be California!

When the Academy Awards nominees were announced this year I couldn't believe some of the choices either. The Time Machine?! Six nods for Frida?! No Punch-Drunk Love?! No BP for Adaptation?! I'm still surprised Cedar Point hasn't been nominated for Best Theme yet. Their theme is roller coasters after all from what I've been told and evidently they do this quite well.

A park without a hyper coaster is like dancing about architecture.

Don't do it Danny, you'll regret it....:) Just kidding, it's "Pick on Moosh Friday"....now back to your regularly scheduled Coaster programming....
I know its a popularity contest, but I'm still surprised there's no Phoenix. Oh well, I voted for Legend instead anyway, its better than its highly overrated sibling in my opinion anyway. ;)

------------------
Track Record: 164
Favorite Wood: Phoenix at Knoebels
Favorite Steel: Millennium Force at Cedar Point

I would have to agree wholeheartedly with that statement...I never really thought The Raven came close to The Legend in intensity and ride experience.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

To you all who REALLY can't believe that a certain park/coaster made it in the category, just DON'T VOTE FOR IT! Now wasnt that easy?

------------------
2025- "I can't believe Cedar Point has a 750 ft. tall coaster, won't it sink?"

I know The Raven isn't quite as good as The Legend, but I'm still surprised that SOB made it on the list and The Raven didn't. The legions of PKI fans are letting their voices be heard though.
