Once again the polling algorithm that separates ride quality from rider quantity is being used to rate the wooden-tracked roller coasters that operated worldwide this past season. Results of the 2001 Internet Wood Coaster Poll, ballots for the 2002 poll, past wood and steel poll results and more about the algorithm used for this annual poll are available at the website.
New for this year are the ability to rank what you love in a roller coaster, from floating airtime to slamming laterals. Also, for the first time, poll respondents also have the option of putting their name on their ballot for display on the website's completed ballots page.

So can we have more then one number one etc?
And let me get this right we delete all the coasters we have not been on?
You don't HAVE to delete them, but it might make it easier on you. Yes, you can have more than one at the same rank.
I actually find it much easier to fill out as a text file. If it were a web form, I wouldn't be able to visually shuffle them around to get them in the order I want, and THEN stick numbers on them :) (Actually, it COULD be done that way, but it'd be slow and a real pain-in-the-neck to code for the author)

Let me tell you...I remember last year's poll was SO much easier for me! I mean, I only had two coasters to rank, and one was Rolling Thunder! Those were the good ol' days!
Now, after one year, I've got to rank a whopping NINE woodies! Good lord! This ain't gettin' any easier...what EVER will I do??? ;)

Voter turnout is behind last year by quite a bit. At this point last year there were about 145 ballots compared to 118 so far this year.
If you have a coaster related website, you can help by posting a prominent link to the poll.
A return link will be posted on the poll site for those sites that refer the most people to the poll.
Almost done, didn't realize I had THAT much wood "under my belt". And you guys think 'Moosh is tasteless.....;).
6.5 refers not to the rating of the wood coasters in CA, but to the earthquake-proofing of the particular structure...and yet, after ALL the teasing I put you left-coasters through, I also want an e-mail of *the itinerary"..:)
Oh, and Big Dipper...rates actually pretty high for me, we caught SFWoA on perhaps its best day ever....balances out MiA....sorry Kara.
