Volvo TV Commercial

That's the great thing about commercials: they make the shows free. And now stations like ABC have a lot of their shows available the next day online with a total of 2 mins of commercials for the entire hour.

And if that's not good enough for you, just get the torrents.

Or just do what you're doing... whatever.

Or you can go with Netflix, which I have used allmost excusivly for watching TV shows (a movie is 1.5-2.5 hours per DVD, TV is 3+ hours per DVD) and get them for cheap.

If you haven't seen the commercial and want to figure out what park it is, CLICK HERE.

Once there, click on the Driving Lesson Commercial. *** Edited 11/9/2006 5:02:19 AM UTC by Chitown***

Hmmmmmmm If those were palm trees in there, wouldn't not narrow down the choices?
Ew that daughter is such a little snot. Her dad is teaching her how to drive stick shift in a new shiny red S40 (probably as her 16th birthday gift) and she gives him attitude.

S&S Tower, and what appears to be a low-to-the-ground corkscrew...adding that in with the specs of that parking lot (location, position, etc.)...

I'm thinking Corey may not be the drunk that he's leading us to believe he is.... ;)

Looks like Playland Park in Vancouver, British Columbia. ( Their Wooden Coaster is prpbably one of the most underrated Roller Coasters on the Planet. I personally rank it No. 3 on my list, right behind Holiday World's Legend and Dollywood's Thunderhead.);)

Yep, the mystery is solved. It's Playland Park.

Well that explains it and why I didn't recognize Playland since I've never been up to the B.C., but I continue hearing wonderful things and it's definitely been on my list for some time. Thanks for the insight.

I survived a Japanese typhoon and the Togo flat ride of death!!!!!!

The short little trains on Coaster, run just like those on Avalanche at the Dells...not sure who coined the term, but it's exceptionally accurate and descriptive: "cartoonishly fast".

Silverwood, Puyallup, PNE, EF, Oaks....delicious stuff going on in the PNW...

I've seen the commercial several times myself....it starts off looking more like an insurance commercial rather than a car commercial.

In the commercial you can see a skyscraper type ride & a woodie that looks an awful lot like SFMM's psyclone, but obviously it's not SFMM as they don't have the skyscraper.VA. beach has one but they don't have any woodies so it' couldn't have been filmed there.

A park in Fla. had the skyscraper back in the day, before it was moved to VA. beach so perhaps they used old footage from that park & digitally edited it into the background while the foreground shots were taken in your average parking lot who knows?

I'm sure the background was switched because whatever background the coaster provided wasn't interesting enough for a TV commercial.
