Volcano rollback!

I was at Pkd 3 days ago and I was on volcano waiting for it to launch. It did but at the top of the volcano we stalled upside down then it came back into the station! It was my first time on it since every time I went it was closed.

Well, that could be a good thing or a bad thing! Most enthusiasts would love to experience one of those rare rollbacks. I know I would. The question is, will you be able to ride it again soon or did you miss the opportunity for a full ride?

Six Flags America? No, no! My name means "Sarcasm-For-All"
They closed it for a half hour and tested it but they gave me a pass so I can go up the exit of the rides.

Volcano rollbacks can occur as frequently as daily. I've witnessed one last year.

Hypersonic rolled back too, this year!

The Jet Coaster ROARS!
I was on a Volcano rollback in the front seat, it was my first launched ride ever, we waited in the laucnh area for about 10 minutes and they sent us again!

From what I hear, S:UE and V2 have been rolling back frequently. ;)

Wonder if it's an Intamin thing. *** This post was edited by Mongoose on 6/7/2001. ***

Did I ever tell you that I was on a hypersonic rollback?

From what I understand, Hypersonic rollbacks aren't a "mess up", they can be programmed as an added thrill, randomly.
Here we are:

Justin Amerhein, Danimation Media Day reporter:
I was not surprised to find out from Stan Checketts (the madman behind S&S) that the Thrust Air could be programmed to randomly throw in a rollback from time to time, adding an extra thrill to the ride to lucky (?) riders when that part of the program hit.

On Hypersonic they are a problem, man. It does not have the programming to do that, yet. The rollbacks I witnessed were a maintenance headache, as everyone had to be evacuated, and the train pushed by hand back to the weigh position.

Yea a Hypersonic rollback is like a Space Shot overshoot... they are not ment to be, luckly it's not as big of a nightmaire on a Space Shot because the safety systems senes it once it overshots and brings the ride to a near stop and lowers it slowly. (A big annoying pain)

Overshot? Is that just like it sounds or what?
making me think about RCT when you put to much speed on a short Whoa Belly Tower.

"ok everyone go ahead and pull down on your shoulder restraint so you feel nice and stuck!"
Wow ! a valcano Rollback , Wouldn't that suck if : you rollback and at the long straight area were you get " blasted " another coaster is being blasted right behind you ? Except i don't think they can Load/unload thing that fast to get the next train going. oh well just a thought

Volcano's block system won't allow that, will it? Anybody familiar with Volcano's blocks?

C'mon Callahan, if you know coasters another train obiously isn't going to be shooting out of the station at the same time.

If Millennium Force doesn't go upside-down, then how could Mantis?
Yes, an overshoot is just that, it uses more air or miscalcuated weight or something like that (I'm not positive I didn't work in the area Rocket at Lagoon is located in but a friend did) But the ride uses an excelent computer system in whick it stops the ride and lowers it in stead of allowing it to travle down as it normally would. I was ridding one time durring an overshoot, it scared the crap outa me, I wanted to do it again! A simular safetey system kicks in if a lap bar was to unlock, the ride would come to a stop SLOWLY and come back down...
