Visionland shuts down river ride following accident

Posted | Contributed by rampagelover

For the second year in a row, Visionland's Wild River Gorge flipped a boat during operation. Passengers exited the boat into the two and a half feet of water as the boat became jammed in the channel, subsequently flipping over.

What the heck is wrong with that ride, it just keeps fliping.

Well where is the lawsuit ?
Yea, its safe to assume that there's gonna be a law suit over this, but it is a more valid cause than the memory loss due to the Jokers Revenge.

Law suit? For what? Emotional distress?

Faulty maintenence. Fliped boats seem to be usually a result of the airbags deflating a bit on one side, causing the ride to get struck and flip over.

They don't kniw what went wrong yet. They are investigating the people in the flipped boat since they are employees.

They have too many rides that break down, flip over, or people fall out! I went two years ago and this is what happened. When we got in we headed over to the right side of the park ( to ride the pirate ship and the log flume ). There was Wild River Gorge closed ( not for the the last time ). We headed to the other side of the park riding rides along the way. Before we rode Rampage we decided to ride Himalaya. I was first in line. They started the ride and after a while a shoe flew out. One of the ride operators blew a whistle, wanting to stop the ride. When I looked at the cars I saw a little kid who was thrown out of the ride, holding on to the outside of the car. His legs were hitting the side of the walls and dragging along the floor. We all ran out of the line and waited to see if he was OK. He was. I didn't ride anything almost all day ( not even Rampage ). Later that day, when we were about to leave we decided to get on Tidal Wave. While we were riding, it stopped. All the swings were bumping in to each other. We were up there for about five minutes. I haven't gone to Visionland since.
Wow, I didn't know there were parks so messed up.

The most "messed up" VL has been while I was there was on Physics Day 2000. The Hurricane(on of my fav.. rides there) broke down 3 times(it was its first day to operate in 4 months).

Just in case anybody ever reads this, the employees in the boat were fired as they caused it to flip by rocking it. It re-opened 10 days later.
