Visionland reopening brings unexpected attendance, record crowds

Riding the wave of an unexpectedly successful Memorial Day weekend reopening and the highest Sunday attendance in the park's history, the new Visionland is alive and well. Opening weekend estimates were topped by at least 20 percent as the public encountered a revamped Visionland, including the Magic Adventure Theme Park, Splash Beach Water Park and Celebration Street. The financially troubled park was purchased by new owner Team ProParks less than a year ago and has since seen $5 million in improvements.

This is great news. Hopefully this will continue all season long and this park won't see any repeats of its past mistakes. Looking foward to my visit this year...

Surprises me, considering I was there the second weekend and no one was at the park. The midways were empty and no lines for anything. It was early in the day though, so maybe it picked up after I left. I'm glad it's been a success so far.

If you came on a Sunday, the park is always dead on Sunday mornings.

I have been 3 times this year. I found the water park to be very crowded and a steady flow to the theme park side all 3 times. The Rampage is running great!

Hey I'm from Tuscaloosa and I am dying to get out to the "new" Visionland. Tell me more of what I can expect differently.

The park is much cleaner and friendlier than before. The main street is updated and looks great. The new 80+ feet drop slide is open and the wave pool is half way to completion. The Rampage is running great.

I am looking forward to visiting Visionland again and I am just wondering if the stratospere screamer is still there and what is the patriot.
