Visionland financial woes continue

Posted | Contributed by SyntaxError

Visionland is now looking at filing for bankruptcy to help restructure its debt and keep it off the auctioning block. This is despite a 70 percent increase in attendance this year.

Visionland would be the perfect spot for Cedar Fair to strike it big!  Visionland has plenty of space, no neighboring competition, and best of all, RAMPAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cedar Fair, it's time to get back into bisuness!

How did this park cost $90 million?

Isn't Visionland the park that CF wanted to manage, but than backed out after a closer look? Seems like CF made the right decision.
C'Mon Cedar Fair!  this park is in trouble and they need your help!  We can't let Rampage go to waste!

If you see me running, try and keep up!

Rampage is an extremely awsome ride,

Check out this picture and you'll see why!

Visionland is only 3 years old, and they need help, come on Pete, it's not that it's a bad park it's just young.

Pete is right.  Cedar Fair backed out of this about a year ago because of financial concerns.  Cedar Fair saw this one coming and as much as I wanted them to get involved, it was the right decision on Cedar Fair's part.  The people running Visionland are politicians that want to turn that area into a major commercial center overnight.  Instead of just building the park and trying to keep it out of financial trouble these people keep getting involved in 'projects' and have no real overall plan for the park.  Its quite unfortunate, this could've easily become a major attraction for the area.  Hopefully attendance will improve next year and they'll be able to make some improvements and make this a regional destination.

On their own? It will never happen...

That's too bad. If they'd like, they can move Rampage over here to the west coast.   :)

DWeaver, excellent signature...After bankruptcy, maybe some better management will come along.  If you're losing money with that kind of attendance increase...Hope the new ownership will be looking for people to run the park right, and soon!

And everyone thought Six flags was in debt.It seems they aren't the only ones.

There's a difference... Six Flags manages its debt and has a solid plan to pay it back. This appears to not be the case with Visionland.

Unfortunately, as Rampage is built into the side of a hill, it would likely go down with the park ...

As for those that want Cedar Fair involved, VL already has, I believe, a five-year deal with Ogden Entertainment to manage the park, signed just after CF turned tail and ran away.

I see six flags visionland in the near future.
That will never happen PatMan007.  With SFoG just 2 hours away it wouldn't make sense.
