Following a number of financial troubles and a management deal that fell through with Cedar Fair, VisionLand is having a better year for attendance, according to Alabama Live.

Glad to hear SOME park is doing good this year.

Live to have FUN!

Go Shamrocks!
Go Wolverines!
I wonder if the Discovery Channel special that had Rampage as the #4 wood coaster helped. Whatever the reason, it is nice to see a park actually have increased attendance.
CF missed out.....

What a Buschs' Visionland? I would like Busch to buy this park and go for non-chain parks.

Whoa... don't just hand out the awards yet. They're still in debt to their ears. One good season doesn't seal the deal yet.

Why doesn't Six Flags buy the park? Six flags is in major debt, so is the park. Sounds like a marriage made in heaven.

Besides, doesn't Six Flags Visionland sound better than paramount's Visionland or Busch Gardens Alabama?

It is because of all of the rave about The Rampage on all of the coaster shows, i am sure of it.

Six Flags probably won't by it with Six Flags over Georgia about 2 hours away. Although stranger things have happened.

What is life without ups and downs!?!?
Wow, 68% is ridiculous! By the way, Rampage is based on Megafobia. Has anyone been on both?
How about Six Flags Great Visions of Adventure? That sounds more in the SF range of names now doesn't it!

Neil H says "I am sure of it" referring to the shows on Discovery channel. Neil, what makes you so sure that a show on a fairly obscure TV channel would raise attendance 68%?!?!?! While this channel may be available in many markets, it is not as widely available as you think AND most of the people that watch it only watch it for specific reasons as we would for their coaster shows. It is hardly possible that a show that focused on coasters in general could raise attendance that much in a single park. It is more a probable result in good local marketing than anything else and although I'm not familiar with the pricing down there, they may be seeing some backlash from SFOG being overpriced in comparison. I live near SFGadv and I know if there was an option available to the GP, they would jump on it as it's $46.00 for a single day now PLUS $10.00 to park!
We do get Discovery Channel here, but the reason is a.) Wild River Gorge re-opened b.) Stratos Fear Screamer opened and c.) owners said if the park doesn't have around 400,000 visitors this year it will close for good.
