How is MF voted Number one again?? Its not that great of a Ride.
Compared to some things (i.e. SFNE's S:ROS) it may not be as good. However, it is an extremely popular and fun ride. I think the argument could also be made that it is the best attraction at Cedar Point, in my eyes, as well as those of a good number of the GP. That would be enough considering that this poll was only of Cedar Point attractions. We will see if this is changed next year with the introduction of the mystery ride.

Was Virtual Midway's survey done just at Cedar Point, or all over the country?

Uhhhhh.....read first, think second, post last? The answer's right in front of you.

I agree, that Millennium Force could have been better, but that would have resulted in a higher price tag, and less overall park improvements. It doesn't really matter what we think anyway. The General Public think that MF is the best ride on the planet, and I almost agree with them. In my opinion, Cedar Point did an AWESOME job with Millennium Force. Obviously, the extreme height and speed really limit what you can do, but Intamin and CP still fit in the major parts that make up a Hyper/Giga coaster.

It wouldnt of costed more to take out that 3rd hill, and add two little, extreme airtime pops ;) Maybe a little more, but It couldnt of hurt ;)

I think air time is so over rated is a coaster not great if it doesnt give a lot of airtime. Most people who hate on MF only cuz its not at there homepark and if it was it would be th greatest ride ever and SteveWoA I love that 3rd it gives great air time and its my second favorite part of the ride. Why does everyone say GP likes it are we not part of the General public since non of us work for any manufacturers or in parks not counting ride ops but the CEO's

(coughs the 'fanboy' cough)

You know, there are plenty of people who like MF a lot but like something else better. That doesn't equal hatin'.

MF doesn't have all those hills because CP already had Magnum. What's the point of building two coasters that do the same thing? Therefore, the decision was apparently made for MF to emphasize speed.

Millie is not my cup of teas but few things are. It does what it is supposed to do and the average park goer loves it. I like it a lot too, but it doesn't match that red or orange or whatever the heck color it is thing across the pennisula.

If Millie had been built with air in mind you would have Steel Dragon which is just a big Magnum.

Millie is about Speed, floater air, and postive g's.

Maggie is your negative G machine.

I am by no means a fanboy of CP but it does piss me off when people dissmiss a coaster cuz it doesnt give a lot air. and CoastaPlaya I am not gonna come back with a lame 3rd grade comeback from 5 years ago cuz what I said was true cuz some of my friends in Cali visited me when I lived in Ohio to ride MF and they hated and when there familes moved there it became there #1 coaster. BTW the only thing i am a fanboy of is life and some people here who imeaditly try to start flame wars needs to get one.

If you want a flame, you'll get one.

That was called an opinion. Get to know the difference.

CoastaPlaya, what is "Dragster" needed for then? A combination of the "best of CP", so I no longer have a need to stop at Magnum, Wicked Twister, MF, or Power Tower? What do you think is the point of this ride if it's not that? Oh yeah, more records!? ;)

Danny

Oh come on, Danny. Don't be silly. You know full well what Dragster is about...revenge. It's the -estest of the -est.

Okay, there's more to it than that. MF is basically a big drop and a wrestling match with the speed it generates. I'm not saying it isn't a good coaster--but when you think about it, almost every other element is designed to slow it down. Dragster would be twice the headache from a design perspective...if you have to shoot up a 400' hill to make your first turn, you'd need 300' and a wider turning radius for #2 and so on.

So they could spend $50-75 million on a full-blown coaster that would meander all over the peninsula, gobbling up precious real estate to imitate an existing ride or spend $25-30 million on the oval we see now.

Dragster is CP's best option for the height record. Whoever tops this is going to pay like a you-know-what to do it.

Truer words have never been spoken Playa.

What all these people want is a launched Millenium Force.

Exactly Playa and I agree with you that they shouldn't have spent an over-the-top amount for something that won't even be useful in marketing or anything. Most likely, the visitors will be happy with what it is and I don't believe I've ever said anything negative about the layout to this ride. I know it will probably be a little bit fun. ;)

Awww, come on. You couldn't have taken that first paragraph seriously, could you?

Why can't I shake the impression you're just campaigning for a seat in the Minivan of Justice?

Reminds me of when they announced Millennium Force. "Why can't it be more like Magnum?"
