Virtual Midway and GTTP become PointBuzz

Virtual Midway and Guide to The Point, two unofficial Cedar Point sites that have been around since 2000 and 1998, respectively, have merged to form PointBuzz. The new site says:

"We made the decision to merge Guide to the Point and Virtual Midway back in May, 2003. Over the year that followed, we worked on creating a new site from the ground up. The result is PointBuzz, which launched on May 12, 2004. This site is a entirely new concept that takes the best of both Virtual Midway and Guide to the Point and creates the ultimate guide to Cedar Point.

Fans of Guide to the Point will notice that the community and discussion they have come to love is still here. Fans of Virtual Midway will notice that every attraction, right down to the Frozen ICEE stand in Frontiertown, is covered in-depth. All will see that everything you could ever want to know about Cedar Point is now in one convenient place.

With the merger, duplication of effort is eliminated. We've assembled an incredible staff of Cedar Point enthusiasts who will provide insight that you just won't find anywhere else. We're focused on giving you what you want: the best Cedar Point news, discussion, and information anywhere."

I really like the new site. I think that game of "guess what this is" is really cool and a bit tricky too! Is this going to be a regular thing with different puzzles? One of the other best features I see is the button to mark threads read. I know you had it at the top of the page before but the button is easier to see and get ahold of. (believe it or not I was going to put a suggestion on here the other day about making some kind of button like that) Way to go guys on the new site cause it looks outstanding!

I love it. It's a great idea, and I think it will be more benificial to you guys later on down the ride too...

Now why can't Fun Spot Park in Indiana get a fan site like this?

That's got to be the most comprehensive park site around. I love it!

as of right now the site looks great, and I noticed that, that is without most of the info and photos that were part of the old virtual midway site, so in my opinion it can only get better, but right now I think it doesnt come close to what virtual midway had by itself, but thats mostly because they havn't uploaded all the stuff.

A whole load of content is on the way. That stuff will be added slowly over the coming weeks. It just got to a point where we had been working on the site forever, the park opened for the season, and we just wanted to put it out there.

Great looking web site! I can only imagine what is to come. This has to be the most complete web site dedicated to one park, and the best park at that!

am i the only one who thinks the design looks...bad?

I'm not really thrilled with the site myself. Then again it's for a silly reason:) I can't look at any of the pics on the site anymore because my firewall here screws things up and activates Jeff's image leeching protection! :) A lot of the images on there are protected like that. Like I said, stupid reason to not like the site but I'm sticking to it!

However, I just noticed you gave in and the forum have Avatars, Jeff.

It's about time! I hated going back and forth between the two. I'd go to Virtual Midway for the news and GTTP for the board. What took them so long!?!

I posted something about it last night in the forums, and it was deleted within 5 mintes..

I've been waiting for this for years (Cp Rider over @ gttp)....so it's cool to finally see it a reality.
