Ok, for the ones that weren't sure yet; this tower just screams: TOPHAT! And look at the pullout... wow.

All I can say is WOW!!!! That thing is huge!!! I;m sure CP will keep us in suspense for a while though. No need to rush things!!!

Well, the pics show clearly that the tower is, let's just say, not close to 200' yet. Could be built higher though, who knows. Also, the diameter of the supports seems smaller than that of Xcelerator. But before everyone gets their chonies in a bind, that doesn't mean anything. Just stating facts. The pullout is different than XLer8trs as well. While KBF's rocket moves up between the supports, this one ascends and appears to pull out along the front of the tower...hmmmm. If you want to compare just go over to RCDB for some really great pics of XLerator. To tell the truth, I don't know what CP is building (and from what I read most of you don't know either) but I'm sure it will be a great ride. We're already having so much fun on the Intamin rocket here in SoCal that I can't wait to get to CP next year to check it out. Oh, by the way, I'll be at CP Oct. 12 for halloweekends. I'll check it out myself. See you on the midway.

Peace

I agree with Mike E. I don't know for sure what they're building, and until an official announcement, I really don't care. All I know for sure is that they're building a coaster, and that's good enough to make me happy.

danimales,

thats exaclty how i see it! untill they actually announce it, i will be watching the construction now and then. but since none of us really have to much of a clue whats going on. all be thankful that there is something going in. I am very fortunate to live by it. some people live all the way in colorado, and have the lovley six flags park!

Not to start anything bashing or anything. just my 2 cents.

Sadly, you are right about the Six Flags in Denver ( I live in Denver and can tell you the only decent coaster around here is the Cyclone at Lakeside. I wish I lived near Ohio...Oh well just gotta keep looking at photos and waiting for news.
I'm glad SFEG and Lakeside are my homeparks....If you don't like it, don't go!

Man I wish I could go back to CP. So many Intamins!

They have parts for another crane. Someone took these pictures, its the same model but probably a little larger, so they will have a longer boom and more counterweights on the back of it. http://www.setecx.com/pics/cp92902const/imagepages/PICT0093.html

Someone went and checked out the model of crane on the semi trailers, and went and found the specs. The crane can hit 500ft with an extension jib. That doesn't mean its going to be 500ft, but this crane is huge and can lift extreme amounts. The person said it matched the number 2250, the pieces look the same and the company that builds the crane only builds 7 crawler cranes. Heres the site if you want to check it out. http://www.northstarak.com/images/m2250pic.jpg
Also the supports for this coaster are at least a foot or two larger in diameter than the ones for Xcelerator. Yeah I know they look small but there rather larger and just shows how large this structure really is.

Heh. Check out this picture. Almost marked that bad boy to be put in the wrong place (joke...I have no idea what it means).

I've gotta get me one of those cranes.

Ah yes, everyone focuses on the coaster - but the real detectives failed their mission Charly. As Raptor Pilot showed us, there were some nice pieces of track laying in a parking lot. http://www.setecx.com/pics/cp92902const/imagepages/PICT0107.html

But no one noticed the suspicious "Rotary" Trailer lurking in the background - did they? I think theyre the ones behind this! *** This post was edited by LooseChangeProductions on 10/4/2002. ***

The new attraction will involve a roller coaster, plus a restraunt and observation area constructed at the top of the three big yellow columns.
