Viper at SFOG de-construction?

How is the progess of Viper going? Have they even started disassembling it? Any pictures? Also, if they have started, does it look like it is being tooken down like Windjammer? Or, does it look like it is being tooken down in a gentler state? Thanx in advance.
I was there last week and the tower was gone, but the loop still stood.

Hey, does anyone have any links to sites that feature deconstruction pictures?
No pics (sorry) but I know for a fact (source:SF shirts) that the ride is being moved.  This means that the WindJammer-type demolition is out.

Well, that's good to hear.
Tooken down?
Where do you think it'll move to? Wish it would go to Carowinds :)

I've got laser eyes, and I know what you're thinking. It comes to no surprise, the Christmas lights are blinking.
I hope it goes to Clementon Lake Park in NJ!!! Oh wait the newest roller coaster was the Jack Rabbit in 1923!
I'm betting on SFKK!  Other options include SFEG, Enchanted Village (now SF), and here's the ace-in-the-hole:  should CP announce another coaster for '02, it MIGHT end up at SFMM just to keep the "coaster count" title in the SF family...

As much as I cherish my beloved Tidal Wave, I hope it does NOT go to a big park. Shuttles belong at places like Wyandot Lake.....although they have short cycles, single train operation means long lines, and that's an understatement when you see them at big parks. Granted, they have a small footprint and are a fantastic ride, but capacity can only work if the crew has their act together 24/7. Great America did a good job dispatching, and I was pleased with SFOG's crew. At least it is still alive......I hope to ride it in it's third location!

This really is a GREAT America

I was at SFoG Sept. 30 and the Viper land is dramatically different.  Both spikes are gone AND the loop is gone.  The only thing that remains is the station and a little bit of track on both sides of it.  The grassy hill on the exit ramp side of the station is now a large "construction-like" dirt hill with a crane there.  I didn't see any new track pieces, but SFoG is obviously in a hurry for something. I wouldn't be surprised if even more changes occur to the area before the park closes.

As for it's new location, I've heard SFA and VisionLand (a good park for it) mentioned.

I may be from IL, but i sure can't get enough of the FORCE. MF!!!
I put good money that ride is going to SFKK or SFEG.  Just a wicked hunch.

God please let SFKK get something in 2002. ANYTHING!!
watch six flags not put it in another six flags park, just sell it to a small park.  i wouldnt be surprised if my home park would get it(castles n coasters), their only option would be a shuttel

monkeymaster, the "suits" were pretty clear about one thing (wouldn't come RIGHT out and say it, though) - it will be a SF park, I'd bet on it...and I ain't the gambling type!

I'm with M_Force_Junkie, send her home.  Rename it Tidal Wave like the old days :)

That would be something....

I thought SFA had an Arrow shuttle in storage(?).
i really hope that SFEG does not get this.  We already have a single loop shuttle coaster in the sidewinder, an unless they take sidewinder out and install Viper we will have two of the same ride.  SFEG needs a new coaster, but not this.
