("Pinky, Are you pondering what I'm pondering?" "I think so Brain, but what kind of rides to they have in Fabioland?")
Anyway...enough of the silly nonsense.
Was looking over some pictures of the coaster I hate the most, Viper at SFGAdv...and I pondered something. What if they tore down Viper, and it was rebuilt by B&M? Same layout, same order of inversions, same style...but built with B&M track and B&M trains? Would the ride be a lot better? Or would there have to be a few minor tweaks in order for it to be a good ride? What do you all think?
Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

Never Has Gravity Been So Uplifting.
Viper's fine the way it is. :)
As for the topic, I don't think B&M would be able to get it as small of a footprint. Also, are you talking with sand-filled rails, or without? I'm personally a fan of the sand. I know it lessens/practically-eliminates that classic B&M roar, but it seems like it makes a smoother ride as well as quieter. Maybe it's just psychological, but that what it seems like.
Did you have a particular type of beemer in mind? Invert? Floorless? Flyer? (flyer may actually be more painful because the g's are engineered for an upright rider, not lay-down orientation)
I know one was Disney and one was Warner Bro. (just found out that Scooby Doo is a Warner Bros. license when looking @ my PKI map the other day, didn't know Hanna-Barbera was WB, always thought it was Paramount/Viacom), but I'd love to have both. Course, I still need to buy seasons 1-3 of Family Guy.
--Dave "I think so, Brain, but the Rockettes? Aren't they all girls?" C.
But back to the topic, I see no reason why B&M couldn't recreate Viper. I think the biggest problem would be the heartline roll. There is a reason why we don't see any heartline rolls on Beemers. (except for Hydra, of course, but that's taken at 2mph) The lats for the outer seats traveling through that roll would probably be wicked.
So B&M could make Viper into something special, but it would be reversed. Smooth ride, painful heartline roll. Right now it's painful everything, smooth heartline. lol
Edit: click here for a discussion on this. I originally believed it to launch. I was wrong.

Make Viper an B&M floorless...make it a bigger footprint, new color scheme, eliminate the heartline roll and make it into a zero-g-roll...and yes, sand in the footers...what do you think now? Would that work?
Oh and Gonch...you're crazy! Still! ;)

BJ4Life.. not in the footers, in the track. Yes, it makes a big difference ;)
I could never remember the name of "David and the Gnome". I liked that dog/fox/whatever it was 'Swift', but that crazy lady with the dye on the See-saw kind of freeked me out.
I agree this is a silly question. Sure it would be smoother, but it would never happen. Even if it did happen, it wouldn't be near as good as a custom built B&M.
Tom says 'DOWNGRADE'.
