Villain workers take a ride, moment captured on film

Posted | Contributed by Chip Wood

The first Villain train filled with people charged its way out of the station last evening and we've got it all on film. Ten new pictures of the coaster running along the tracks are now available including a few with the workers tasting the coaster's very first freefall to hit the bellies of any human beings.

There's also a bit of a 'virtual ride' available through the pics as we followed the course of the train as it traversed the tracks for as long as we could keep up!

Also in the news from SFO is that Roadrunner Express, the park's new family coaster is being built with a quickness. One picture of its growth is also available.

Still a boatload of work to be done at the park before opening day on May 5th- much of it landscaping around the various new rides and attractions. It's really quite a feat that the park's been able to get this far this quickly. I know I'm not the only one that doubted their ability to get it all done.

Enjoy the pics and the countdown to the season!

Hmm, are those steel supports holding the wooden track. It sure looks like it to me. What kinda wooden coaster is this??

Just as Cedar Point's Gemini is a steel coaster, Villain is a wood coaster. It's the track that counts, not the support structure.

Another example is Twisted Sisters. Steel support and wooden track.

Yeah ya beat me to that point Jeff I thought of that after I posted above. It is the track that counts.
