Villain Gets PTC'S?!

As shown by this staion pic of villain..

Those dont look like Guestler trains.. Are they PTC'S? They look like they are. What do you think?

If this is true, Villain will be in the top #10 rankings of wooden coasters ;)

Got Cheese?

*squint* Hard to tell, from my veiw point.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

I'd say that they are the G trains... look at the front. The plastic curves a bit... like the front of Villain's regular trains.

Those look like the same trains to me...

At first glance they looked like PTC's. Now that I looked at it a little bit harder, they still look like the same old The Villain trains.

Who knows?

I didn't know they kept them covered with that tight of wrapping over the winter though... How recent do you think this pic is?

The pic was taken yesterday when I went out to the park to check out the new rides in the parking lot.

When does this park open? I figured it would be at least testing rides by now!

IMO (perhaps mine alone) I don't think Villain has the kind of lateral forces that G-trains seem to have the most trouble with...On Legend, or any serious twister-type layout, PTC's are *infinitely* better. On out-n-back layouts with mainly +/- g-forces, Gerstlauers are fine...(isn't that what they call "damning with faint praise....LOL)...
I disagree, the Gerstlauer trains are made for the vertically challenged. I am only 6'1" and yet my knees were deadlocked against the front of the car. An inch would have given me the mobility to get air-time, but instead I had to settle for keeping the lapbar raised 5 inches higfher, which was neither effective, nor safe.

Curse you rollergator, CURSE YOU! I am going to severely miss Legend's G train -- it was infinitely PERFECT for that coaster, and had tons to do with its "out-of-controlness."

I am not going to dismiss the PTC's but I honestly can't see how they're going to make that coaster better (it might have a positive effect on increased speed). I think they're going to rip the track to shreds way moreso than G's did.

Not to mention the lap bars and seat belts and seat dividers and higher side panels annoy me.

I will miss the G trains... :( I really hope the PTC's don't take anything away from Legend though!

Joe, who absolutely cannot wait to see Paula, Will, Pat, and the rest of the HW crew May 31 and June 1...two nights of ERT, bless you people!

LOL, Legendary....stick with Shaggy, those are the same old G-trains Villain had before....NOT positive, but I'd be really surprised if SF changed up trains on a coaster so new...

BTW, cursing me only serves to make me stronger....:)

Marimba Guy 87, the park opens Saturday May 4th.

I am sure because if you study the picture, you can make out the curved open front, black metal bar grill on the front of the train.

PTC does not offer a car with an open front or "grill."

That would be awesome to have PTC trains.

I have 32 coasters in my track record.....I'm so proud of myself.

No need. The Gersts are fine on Villain, no need for SFWoA to spend money on new trains for Villain when other aspects of the park need work.

I don't see why some of you would like PTC's over the G-trains on the Villain. I'm 6'6" and find the G-trains pretty comfortable. The ride is awesome there is no need for any changes on it.
