Video of the new and improved POTC, with Johnny Depp....

John and matt:

Believe it or not, it's true. I was expecting 3+ hours. All the way down main St. and it was just over 90 minutes. (Of course all the way from Pirates to the Main St. train station is a different thing in DL compared to WDW)

According to "Mouse Tales" (killer book if you haven't ridden it.) Pirates hovers normally around 2600pph, but with all the boats on and a good crew has many times just topped 3000pph. How's that for throughput!

John: That's what the single rider line on DL's Spash is for, and CA Screamin', Soarin', and Mullholland Madness. :)

Before the first movie came out, this ride was a walk-on.

Here's To Shorter Lines & Longer Trip Reports!

^Because of its capacity. Its always been popular, but never has a long line because its throughput is so good.

It was still usually 5-10 minutes even after the first movie came out. Why? Because its capacity is so good.

The Mole's avatar Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Spaceship Earth, all popular rides with not much line due to such a high capacity. Disney can move people through lines like nobody's business. Heck, Universe of Energy and Great Movie Ride sometimes rival Pirates in output!

matt.'s avatar Universe of Energy is a frickin' marvel. You rarely hear much about it though unless you're on a Disney fan site, its just one of those completely unique to Disney kind of rides. I can't think of any park that has anything remotely like it.

Wait... is the Universe of Energy ride the ride that has the dinosuras or all the plants at Epcot. I have no been there since 1999 or 2000.
