Another card you might consider and one I can vouch for is the basic garden variety Nvidia 6800 (mine is overclocked out of the box so it's an 6800OC actually). You can do something on them called "unlocking the pipes" and get performance very near a full GT at less cost.
Something to think about. Paying more for just a few FPS increase seems silly to me. IMHO.
