Vid card to use for this game?

I'm asking what video cards people have to run this game. I have a Nvidia TNT2 and the game runs quite poorly(unless I look at the sky in game) but my system more than passes the minimum requirements. I reduce all the details and use the lowest res, but the frame rate is still bad. So if anybody can tell me what card they use and how well the game runs so I can consider what to upgrade to.

What's a world without upstops?!

i have an old voo doo 3, it usually has pretty good fps, but if there are lots of trees or 3ds's the it goes down a lot. Phyter's slight of fear runs at about 8 fps on my comp
I have a Nvidia GeForce 2. Works really well. I only have a 300-and-change Mhz processor, so the card really helps out. I bought it at Wally World (Wal-Mart) for around 50 bucks. I plan to sell it to get a GeForce 3 sometime. They are real good quality video cards for the low price!

My last rig had a 366 celeron, with a Intel chipset graphics. In case you werent aware, there no card, as the graphics are built into the motherboard. Simply put, it's the worst graphics. I got an amazing 0-5 FPS....

My current rig has a northwood 2.66GHz P4 processor, a micro-star Motherboard, and a TI4200 Nvidia GeForce4 I get a solid 60 FPS no matter what coaster at default settings.

If your looking for a really cheap graphics, I'd have to say go with a GF2 or 3. If you have a decent computer, and you don't mind spending a bit more, you could go with soemthing like I have.

I should note that people are reporting issues with the newest high end ATI cards. If you are thinking about upgrading to a ATI Radeon 9700 or 9700 Pro perhaps wait a few months for the drivers to mature. Older ATI cards running mature drivers do not seem to suffer the same issues. On the low end the Radeon 8X00 series are a good chioce. In the middle the Radeon 9000 Pro (make sure it's the Pro) offers the best price/performance.

I have a GeForce2 MX 400 on a 1.1GHz Ahtlon. It struggles with some of the more complex coasters but I can ussually find a detail setting that allows decent performance.

Based on user input that we get from our Beta testings and the forums I plan on upgrading to a GeForce4 Ti 4200 (64MB). If you can afford one $100 graphics card per year this is the one I would recommend for 2003. Wait until the FX cards are released then buy at the discount.
