Great news...if only I could find a ride :(. I think the new version of v2 looks so amazing.Coming out the station and flipping upside down(while going 65-70 mph) should be quite an interesting sensation.

I'll be going on monday and will hopefully get a ride or two on it. I think going backwords through the inline twist should be great.

I was there yesterday and they had just finnished the rubber floor. It tested a couple of times right after the park closed too. I also talked to a few ride-ops and they all said it would open friday but they also said it won't go 72 miles per hour anymore.

It looked really cool and I wish I hadn't used all my film before they tested it!

I'm also going on Monday so i hope its open! I will be so happy! I'm not setting my expectations to high for it because I don't want to be dissapointed. See you all there on Monday!

Yeah, I think it may only go like 55 - 60 mph now. With only a 150 foot tower, how could it keep the 72mph speed? It almost reached the tippy-top of the 185 foot tower at 72 mph. Im sure it will be drastically reduced.

-----------------
How much more floorless can they get?

Well I know they put a smaller wheel on it so that it slows down faster or something like that. Yeah, I may be there either Monday or Tuesday. It was still really loud when I saw it test though!

Why doesn't V2 have to test 1000 times like Xcelerator did? You can't tell me it has already because its only been testing for a week.
Im going there tomorrow and I REALLY hope it'll be open! I don't care if i have to wait by the ride all day! And another reason I hope it'll be open is because i only rode the old version once, so i hope the new version will be worth the wait!

PLEASE BE OPEN!! PLEASE BE OPEN!! PLEASE BE OPEN!!!

Constepated Tester: The reason Xcel has to test 1000 times is because its a prototype and they need to make sure everything works right (which nothing ever does). V2, 1: is not a prototype and B: it just needs to test enough to get the launch speeds right.

I believe because it uses the same trains and a previously used systems it doesn't have to test 1000 times. It was Intamin that choose to test Xclerator 1000 times before handing it over to the park.

So basically, not on a modified ride.

V2 will go just as fast if not faster than it used to, the LENGTH of the spike is now 212 ft I believe, the old spike of course was 185 feet long and high.

I think he was referring to the back spike, which has been noticeably shortened.

God is Good!

Yeah, but it is possible that it will go 72 moh because I think they took off a car.

Six Flags-Its everywhere you want to be

The specs on the ride now read 150 ft at 70mph....

That front spike is 212 ft now? Wow!! If thats the case I would assume they can launch the train forward at 70 MPH but going toward the back spike it would be slowed down.

""To be the man, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!, You got to beat the man""!!!

The actual length of the spike has *little* to do with the speed of the ride. If both spikes are 150' max (height), then the train will be ascending both towers at the same speed. Just because the front spike is longer, it's still 150' high, which is what determines the speed.

Does anybody know if it opened today?
