Vertical Velocity Wheel Caps

I just watched those coaster shows (again) and I noticed that V2 at Marineworld has wheel caps but V2 at SFGAm does not, why not?

The new V2 @ SFMW doesn't have wheel caps. I was on it last Monday.

I think it has something to do w/ SFGAm.

Their version of Batman: The Ride often runs one train w/o wheel caps.

SFGAm's Batman running without wheel covers is new this year. It looks really nice. (/sarcasm)

So if SFMW's V2 isn't running with wheel covers anymore does that leave Wicked Twister as the only impulse with them?

You know. I did that coin trick on the back spike today, and I accidentally dropped the coin, and it appeared to have fallen through the the gap between the track and the wheel. Fortunately, it passed right through, and fell into the bushes below. I wonder what would have happened had it gotten stuck in there. The caps are to prevent falling debris from getting caught in the wheels. That could cause some major problems.

a coin though... that would be pushed out of the way by the weight of the train. A wooden leg, now that is a different story.

S:UE didn't have them the first year (not that I remember anyway), but had them second year. Wicked Twister had the brackets but I've never actually seen them.

I'm aware of that - I never said they both were (though maybe I should have specified). It looks even better with one running with and one running withouth. Almost as good as River Rocker with no water underneath. *sigh*

I've never seen them on Wicked Twister either, but some of the pics on CP's site show the ride with the caps.
