Vertical Velocity thought

I was watching the S:UE part of Extreme Rides 2001 when I thought of something. Why did they name the S:UE clones Vertical Velocity instead of Superman again? Maybe its because they are saving the name for a clone of Superman: Ultimate Flight. Neither parks have a flying coaster or a Superman name. It really makes you think.

Neither parks have a flying coaster, nor do they have a coaster named Superman.
Why didn't SFMW and SFGam name V2 Superman instead?
Maybe they are saving the name for a clone of S:UF at their parks.

That's a great thought, and it would be ok if it were true (I'd prefer a 4-D coaster at SFGAm)  but I'm not that picky, I'd be happy with Tidal Wave back.  However, I doubt very much that it's true.  I personally think that the S:UE colors wouldn't fit in to the theming where V2 was put, the yellow and blue work perfectly.

Maybe that could happen at SFMW because SF would want to compete with Stealth for the tallest, fastest etc. flying coaster on the west coast. :)

Skater for life!
There is a problem, Stealth is 115', while S:UF is 106'.
If they did make a clone for Marine World, they would have to refigure the stats to make the new coaster's speed deal with the layout.
Would they have to alter the clone's layout to deal with a new speed? Or would they keep the original layout but change the height?

OMG! And that must mean SFDL is getting a Batman, Catwoman, and a Mr. Freeze coaster because we don't have one named that yet! [please detect the sarcasm =)]
A very bad theory in my opinion, but who knows....

I don't know.  There could be something there.  SFGAm has had a great deal of Superman merchandise prominently on display near Batman, and when asked, the sales staff always answers with a very programmed, 'No.  No new ride named Superman is coming.'  That of course, makes me think the opposite is true.  If SFGAm is indeed one of the larger 'flagship' (if you will) parks, I could see them getting another B&M soon.  I certainly don't see why SFGeorgia is getting this one first.  I was underwhelmed by the park two summers ago.  Georgia Scorcher?  Hmm. . .
I see why SFOG is getting one, how 'bout SIX FLAGS FELT LIKE PUTTING ONE THERE! (sorry for the all caps)!

I know, I know.  Money is money.  I should say that I don't understand why Islands of Adventure let this one slip out of their hands though. . .with their other fantastic B&M's.
That doesn't make much sense, Ride em, Cowboy.  Did IOA let the B&M Speed coaster "slip out of their hands", and the B&M Dive Machine, and the B&M Stand Up, and the floorless.....  IOA isn't just about the coasters, it's about much more. The GP doesn't go there for the coasters.  That park is a real experience.

Umm. . .I know that.  This board has gotten very confrontational lately.  Are people always this pissy?  No wonder threads get closed all the time here.  My point was that there was always talk of them putting in one.  I've never heard anything from them regarding the other types, but a flyer has always been rumored for the park.  I've been to the park, and spent HOURS exploring the nooks and crannies.  I personally think the park is perfect as is.  The don't need to cover up inadequacies by throwing up another ride.  I was just making an observation.  Wow. . .

I didn't mean to comed off pissy.  It's hard to come off the right way sometimes on these kind of boards.

No harm done.  Now can we get back to thoughts on SFGAm getting a B&M Flyer??!?!  I know I won't make it to Georgia, so I'm counting on them to pull through with a miracle for 2003.
I think that the best route for SFGA is a flyer or a floorless next.  aside from that (and a 4D down the road) I'd say that SFGA is pretty well rounded.  as for SFMW, I've never been there, but from the one pic that I saw of its park map it looks a little small to get a large enough flyer to compete with PGA.

Explain to me how, exactly, Vertical Velocity fits in Yankee Harbor.  Yellow and blue work no better than red and blue would have!  And here I thought SFGAm was doing a nice job keeping the theming until V2 came along when they decided they actually had to *remove* theming to put in something that doesn't fit at all!...

Seems like that time of the month for some one.

Well they could have colored it aqua and blue and called it Aquaman: Ultimate Swim

I was just thinking the other day that the B&M flying creation may be the one coaster SFMW does have room for. And what a direct hit to PGA that would be.

Have you ever considered that it may not be the park that's the problem, but YOU???
