Vertical Velocity reviewed by scared reporter

It's always entertaining when a reporter and novice coaster rider describes a new ride. This time the wordsmith takes on the new Vertical Velocity at Six Flags Great America.

Read it from the Star Newspapers.

Dang, I think he did crap his pants. Also, he used corkscrew as a verb. He also stated that Viper is one of the oldest coasters at SFGAm.

SFGAm: SCREAM. THRILL. REPEAT. Two New Coasters in 2001! *** This post was edited by MFRULES on 6/9/2001. ***
Great review. It's fun to see how the general public deals with these rides, especially the stall on the back tower.
I don't understand...how could the writer mix up theme parks so completely? Vertical Velocity is at Six Flags Marine World. I was there yesterday. I rode it!

The Marine World publicity people must be making in their pants, after the amount of money they spent wooing the media yesterday. :)
There is 2 new Vertical Velocities, 1 in Marine World, the other in Great America.
I was at SFMW Media day yesterday and it was awesome. Because the ride didn't open on time they gave us all these free drinks and ice cream. We also got ERT on Roar for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I got on 9 times.

Finally V2 opened and because there were about 100 or so ACE members there I only got on 24 times, which is actually really good. I had a great time! Even after the Media left and it was open to the GP the line was still only about 10-15 minutes.

I think he is just one of the people who dose not like rollercoasters (sounded great to me! I would like to ride it!!)
I rode V2 at SFMW yesterday as well and it is the only coaster that has ever made me feel sick. I'm not sure what it is...I only rode it 3 times and that was enough.

This review is defently for V2 at SFGAm in Gurnee Illinois. In fact, if you read the whole article, Steve Brosh mentions me in it! I'm the yahoo that rode the Eagle 62 times in one day.

This year, I tried to beat that record on May 23rd (Eagle's 20th Birthday), but unfortunaly, I only got in 54, since it had rained in the morning.

I was at SFGA this weekend and YES the wait time for V2 is long but many people loved it and were willing to wait again to ride. As for Viper (old woodie) the front seat is BEST you get major air time. I just about came out of my seat.
As for Deja Vu, its almost done. They are now putting some of the train trucks on the track and are very close to testing time. We were told they hope to open Deja Vu by the first of July.

coaster freaks unite-conquer them all
I am upset with your reference to The Viper as an "Old Woodie" when it is only six years old, thus making it fairly new
I'm pretty sure he was refering to American Eagle, which is pretty old for the park. (20 years.) Because the front of Viper gets very little air time, and even though the front of the Eagle also gets very little, it's more than Viper's.
Viper the oldest ride @ SFGa, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA...breath...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Laugh. it's good for ya.
