Vertical construction of Silver Bullet goes skyward

Vertical construction of Silver Bullet is moving forward at Knott's Berry Farm. Half of the lift on the inverter has been erected, and many of the station and transfer track areas are complete.

I wonder why they are using the North lot to store the track? They used the West lot for the Xcellerator.

Anyhoo, cool beans. This thing is popping up a lot quicker than expected.

Drive by the park on my way home from San Diego Sunday and the more of the lift has been completed. At this pace I wouldn't be surprised to see vertical contruction completed by the end of August [just a guess].

So , could they possibly open sooner? This is my most anticipated ride of 2k4. I have a question for the regulars. For the footers that are in the midway, how do they assemble the supports if the park is still open. Do they rope off certain parts?

I think it would be awesome if they did a soft opening sometime in October, like maybe the weekend I will be there...

I know it's not likely, but hey, I can always hope. :)

There had been a rumor circulating around the net a few months ago that Knott's wanted to open the coaster just in time for Haunt in October. We'll see what happens...

Hey Mr. Sky, I'd be more concerned about Tigger. ;)

Eric (who has a feeling Mr. Sky won't be disappointed)

Sections of the park are walled-off during construction. It was a real mess when both SB and Riptide were giong up...lots of dead-ends.

Yes, there has been a rumor of an early opening but at this point it's just that: a rumor.

They definitely want to have the midways clear and the walls to come down before Haunt. That is the primary goal. They cannot have things walled off that much with the crowds they get during Haunt.

And if the ride happens to be ridable at that point, so much the better! :)
