Vertical construction complete for Jersey Superman

Posted | Contributed by Chewman

The last piece of track was installed on Superman: Ultimate Flight in Jackson, New Jersey on Monday, February 24. Workers were busy all around the site working on the electrical wiring, furnishing the station and checking the track. Focus has shifted to the station where the roof has been installed. Woo-Hoo! Hopefully it will open on schedule, despite all this snow we've had (and we're getting more this week).
I still looks like a coaster in a parking lot. I trust a lot of landscaping will follow.

They didn't waste any time in completing the structure. Even the 2ft of snow received last week didn't stop them. At least they tore up the parking lot before building the coaster, unlike another park on the west coast that just left the parking lot as is and built on top of it.

I pray it doesn't open on the 17th like they were saying in Jan. It would seem that they could open on time if they wanted too at this point. PLEASE open by the 12th :)

No. It was confirmed at a high school press conference yesterday that the coaster will indeed open on April 17th.

Christ! Will people give the whole parking lot thing a rest. It's doing my head in!
High School Press Conference?

That really sucks. The first time I go to the park on opening day is the first time they haven't had a coaster ready for opening day.

Go figure.

It's not the first time they haven't had a coater ready opening day. Rolling Thunder, Viper, and Chiller are some that have opened late, just to name a few.

The high school press conference was new this year. It was for televison production classes and newspaper students to experience an actual press conference. Then they go back and produce news stories or video segments for their school. It was a great idea and a lot of fun.

hey, be glad you'll get "line-free" rides on Nitro, still the best coaster there. the "flight" looks like fun, but i'm sure the gimmick will wear off fast.

Oh, and i'm the dude, not the cat. Although if you like to play make believe, i'm a cat who can use a computer.

Nitro's not worth a ride even if there is a line. Just my opinion.
